Final Fantasy VIII Memories:Old Photographs

The "photos" you used for the wallpaper are quite famous ones of Final Fantasy 8... so it really has an effect like "old memories" that are awakened. I never forgot about FF8 though... I'd say it's still my most favorite Videogame. I think the old photograph effect is well done... but when I look at the wallpaper in my screen it makes me think whether I really need the old photograph effect. Maybe I would have done a little less of the scratching? But still I like it... thanks for bringing some memories back!

egg..cellent old foto effect u hav done here. a little note though: all the individual fotos hav scanlines on them .. should they be a little sharper and a little less scratchy on the main characters?

I think it looks cool. If perhaps the white oldness stuff's opacity was lowered a bit it would feel a touch more realistic.

Oh excellent idea. Nice brushwork and texture on the images and of course, really nice composition. If you want a more "old" look I'd recommend using the burn tool here and there, but hey, you've done a really good job. Good choice & use of text as well. I like that image of Squall as well, it's nice to see him smile for once. :)

Yay! A Final Fantasy wallpaper. The old photographic texture that you used in making this wallpaper colllage is very unique! Excellent jo on creating the cracks and creaks in the images. And I also like the selection of images you used to put the thing together. Loving and very nostalgic feeling to it. I love it!

the cracks effects are really good. The shape of polaroids are great too ; maybe a same size could be better no ?

i agree, it was one of my favourite game of all the time, when it came out the graphics blew me away, they were just beautiful to look, but now that i look back at it, the graphics looks so *old*, like watching a movie from the 90's, haha

Nice job although I think the cracked effects on the photos are a bit much. Also the top right corner is miracusly untouched by the effect. But the paper still looks nice though.

the wrinkles in the photos are a bit over the top, but nonetheless a great concept

this was the first ff game i ever played, and it is still my favourite one. i can really relate to the treatment of this wallpaper because in some ways, i /do/ feel as if this is one of those games that'll forever be a fond memory. :)

the crumbled looking photographs really state out your title.the ballroom scene is fantastic. and the individual picture of squall and riona really brings the pictures together. its really good

good job on putting the screenshots into the various photos. the roughening/bending/cracking of the photos was done pretty well (although a little too much for my tastes). haha, i know i'd take better care of my photographs if they were important to me.

Pretty nice, and a good job with the text too, it's nice and scripty and matches the photo theme well. My only tip for this one is that the photos do seem a bit too bright and clear to be distressed, it would probably help to use the sponge tool here and there and put it a bit more distress in the areas right next to the cracks in the photos.

This was one of favorites out of the FF series besides FFX and FFX-2...that I've been craving to play for some reason. Lol, anyways, really like this one. Though not to crazy about all the cracks and distortion on this one. Maybe a bit too much.

I was always a big fan of the pictures being strewn about for the Final Fantasy VIII theme. This one may end up being one of my favorites!

I will say I wish you had put less of the aging effect on the picture of Squall in the lower right. It kind of overpowers the picture a bit. But all and all its REALLY well done.

Hm, I gotta say that I really like that wallpaper, but I think that this effect that makes those pictures look destroyed, doesn't look natural. Hm, I'mean It looks a little bit flat to me. And uh, pictures are ripped in the middle, but frame around them is in good shape, hm. But, thats just MY opinion ;] Wallpaper is great! ;)

I think it would've been better if you replaced Seifer with a picture of Squall and Rinoa... like their hugging scene. To me it seems it would fit better. But that could just be because I'm a total RinoaxSquall junkie. But I love the overall wallpaper~ Great job =)

I have always loved FF8, and I love the way you capture a major theme from the game with the use of these photographs. its very impressive.

It look special but personally, I think the "old" picture really look a bit too old and not well-kept. That's my first impression... maybe you can consider minimizing the "old" effect by giving less white line.

This wally really suits the title - 'Memories'. When I first saw it, really brought back memories of FF8. I like the effects on the photographs, though I think there are too many 'cracks' on Squall's photo on the lower left giving it a kinda artificial effect. But it came out really nice nonetheless! I really like the scratching effect, yea, it is a *little* much but maybe thats good? I think there need to be a little bit of shadows on some of the scratches though for realism, they start looking like white splotches sometimes.
