I think you did really well with this wall. I'm thoroughly impressed with how you did the ground and the clouds look amazing. The pools of water look realistic enough and everything fits perfect with the colors and texture of the scan. Great wall and great job!

You did a great job! its almost unnoticeable where the scan ends and where the editing starts..I think the clouds give it away though, because the clouds in the original scan are more defined while yours are blurrier. I would have just painted over the original clouds so it all looks uniform. Very nice job!

Hey man I appreciate digitally painting photos, it turned out great. My only complaint here is ...the resolution :( I wish it was bigger or if you added on to make it widescreen :(. I would totally use it as a background if it fit my monitor tho o wellz Fav is good enugh ;D

Wow, most impressive. If I had one complaint though, it would be that you didn't include sun rays lancing through the parting clouds - that aspect of the sky after raining almost always catches my awe.

I must admit this is very good. I mean the scan of it was very difficult. It was suppose to be a kino challenge at minitokyo in the group p-o-r (paint-o-rama). I don't think I could ever do this and I still can't believe the series is still going. My lil sister likes the series so much, but I don't know why. :x Still overall great job and keep it up! ;)

Looks a painting..... wow..... I like the clouds and the grass. The unique thing about this wall is that even though it is quite empty on the side, the colour filled the gap very well... beautiful, simply beautiful!

The background is looking good, the sky with the clouds looks nice, the colors are looking good. The grass is looking a bit strange though. The character is looking good, he fits to the background well. Nice wallpaper.

We'll the right hand side is just taken from the scan verbatim, so I'll focus on the left hand side.

You did a fairly good job at recreating the grass and making it look natural. I can't say the same about the clouds though.

It's true that you may have painted them yourself, but you didn't do a very good job at matching the style used in the original scan. This is very apparent at the bottom of the clouds where they go from being blotchy to blurred. You can also see where the clone stamp tool was overused a bit too much as well.

I wouldn't say this was a good first wall. This is a good use of photoshop, but I personally do not think it is worthy enough to be called a wallpaper. Sure it fit's all the criteria of being a "wallpaper", but it doesn't have one ounce of originality. You could equate this to essentially cropping the scan and calling it a wall. Sure, cleaning/recging the scan might get you some points, but it still isn't worthy of being a real wallpaper.

Don't let my little rant stop you from making more walls though. Look around for scans. See what you like. Then go out and Create your own background for it.

I really like how the left side looks like it's (still) going to rain while the right side is clearing up. It also reminds me of the clouds from my nightmares... Anywho, the left side could be a bit more blotchy to match the right, and I think if the text was moved to the bottom it'd be better because I find the focus (after Kino) to be on the sky. Actually, I think it'd be better without text, but that's because I'm a no-text person haha. I like scenic wallies, so please make more~

The only negative complaint is at first sight i feel the BG dont fit with the scan but after see it detailed im wrong! I think, it need more work in the sky cuz looks too sadness, too dark for the scan. If you can make more shinning its looks better for me. Anyways, its a great piece! +fav.. for you first wall.

This is really a master piece, the clouds are perfect, the effect of "after the rain" is amazingly well acheived and the light/shadow effects in the ground is extremely well done. This wall transmit a sensation of peace and well being to the observer, definetely a work of art, in my opinion. Two thums up !!

Great wall. It's got everything that a good piece of Kino no Tabi artwork should have: Kino, a sense of peace, and that wide-open blue sky.

I'm really impressed when I saw this wallpaper... Even when I saw it in it's icon form, my head was already instructing my hand to download the wallpaper!

Anyways, so down to the commenting... Overall I think you did it very well in the sense of maintaining the original feel of the wall. The extension were well made, in my opinion. The light patches on the ground, the puddles left behind by the rain are potrayed really well. I've noticed that you actually changed a few of the colours from the scan too.

I think the colour was a bit damp, the grass colour looks as if the whole area is swampy, a bit too wet for me. And I guess, the feel of a bit unrealistic in the wall was, the further left corner of the wall feel as if it is still raining and, it would be better to make that area a bit brighter. But these are just minor changes, and depends on each person's taste, so, really, absolutely a well done piece.

The gray tones in the sky are gentle on my eyes and the grass goes so well with it. I love how Kino is positioned and how she's on the far right side, this wall is just too serene.

Just a suggestion, if you are bored, you could try adding pink flowers (the ones on the phone booth) randomly on the field. I think that way, it doesn't seem like the flowers appeared out of no where, or they come only from the phone booth.

I Love This One

The nice painted style background looks great, and flows nicely. Also you pay attention to detail and try to make it look real, I'm referring to the sun shinning though the clouds. Not really sure what the point of this wall is though, and I'm wondering exactly why there is a phone booth in a field. But I guess it relates to the series somehow.
