Please comment on the colors and the floral vector. Colors in terms of combination and contrast...
This is the third revision of my wallpaper of HAGU-chan. Thanks a lot to all the people at session zero for taking time to notice and comment on my wallie.
I've recently finished watching the series Honey and Clover..and I got really inspired to make a wallpaper but there were few images to go about on the internet. This is a snapshot of the time when Hagu sat down to stare at Shu.
All in all it took me almost 2 weeks to make this. It was mostly the vectoring that took a lot of time. Especially for the eyes and the hair. I had to do Hagu's eyes 3x. But it was worth it. =) It was really hard to vector. Yup all the stuff you see here was vectored.

this is lovely, so whimsical and bittersweet just like the series, I love the vector of the butter fly wings, and the ornate curly queue on her head looks like a crown, I think some additional colors for the flowers would of made it a bit more softer, but that's just my preference, overall you did an excellent job on this, very lovely!

(prologue: It truly is a shame that there aren't too many H&C pics or walls out there, as the series contains so many moments and feelings that'd be just outstanding captured in a picture.)
Now this work of yours is VERY interesting, even though I'm not sure whether or not it is that suitable as a wallpaper. It has such depth, the more I look at it, the more it gives to me...
Ok, I try to share my thoughts of the colors and whatnot... As I have very limited artistic knowledge, It'll be kinda clumsy, though (you've been warned).
The butterfly wings are absolutely beautiful and very creative (I think most would've come up with the basic angel wings there), especially their coloring is fascinating. Matching with the black flowers they wonderfully contradict with Hagu-chan's adorable face and her golden hair, claiming that there are serious and even rather dark themes behind all that cuteness. And thus this one picture is able to neatly summarizes the whole series.
The blonde hair then. It's so radical amidst all the black, purple and white that I am still not sure whether to love or hate it. Whichever the case, it's still well done. I especially like the way it fades while descending. In fact, I'd probably have it a bit lighter all the way, so it wouldn't bear the risk of being too dominant and aggressive. I would also like to see there something else with the same color, as done with the eyes and the butterfly wings. (the one four-leafed clover isn't quite enough, although it is a cute detail :P )
I don't have that much to say about the black-and-white flowers, since I don't quite understand their meaning. Anyway, they are just as well done as the rest of the picture, and do fit in pretty well (they don't bother me, yet on the other hand I see nothing too special in them).
Also I have to give credit to the beautiful screenshot image you picked. Hagu-chan looks so sweet and innocent, hence it fits your theme perfectly.
All in all, it is different -in a positive way. I won't be adding it to my favs, though, as I still can't quite see it as a wallpaper -it's more like a visual poem or something to me (yup, I AM a weird fella).
You are a real artist, keep it up :)
