F**king god woman! O_O it's hard to believe that this was done with no stock photos! The bg is THAT awesome! Ever thought of joining an art school?

It's a breathtaking WP (pun intended) also very detailed and creative. Love how you make gleam of sunlight penetrates through the depths of the ocean/sea and how you put your effort on making the aquatic life in BG looks alive. The bubbles looks great too. Yes, both of the characters blends well with the aquatic surrounding.

Just when Kurou suddenly opens his mouth underwater, there must be some air escaped from his mouth and some amounts of bubbles formed around him and hits Al Azif's face. That the only thing that bugs me in this WP.

This is really pretty, but I don't think it emphasizes summer (or any season, for that matter). Also, something about the text doesn't seem right to me. The placement is good, but the fontface doesn't seem striking enough :3

So I definitely like this piece and the effort you put into it, but I don't think it really fit the requirement of the competition ^^;

Okay I admit that the background looks magnificent the wall compistion is great. And the colors too. But I think the season can’t be recognized easily. And sorry, for some reason I can’t believe you didn’t use any stock. Some parts (like the rocks on the right side and especially the fishes) are way too photo looking. And because of the above mentioned confusing things I’m not satisfied with this wall (being one of those who actully wrote the rule for the battle) If we don’t mention the battle it’s an awesome wall i have to admit. But like this I’m unceratin.

I must admit I am amazed with the wallpaper you have submitted it. Concerning the composition I have no words actually, it is magnificent… Nevertheless looking at your description and following your WIP, I must admit really that this is not a digitally painted background. You may have stated so, but the more I look at this piece the more photorealism / photo manipulation with lots of smudge and added features (fishes/apart from the three that are close to the characters on the left). The plants though are drawn and that is for sure. As for the bubbles i love them^^, either brushed or painted. It is the first time I actually criticize someone’s work (the way someone worked to be specific) but it is something that caught my eyes. Maybe you haven’t explained clearly the way you worked. It is not bad to use photo reference, if you actually state the followings: a. “I used a photo reference to re create the X element (meaning you saw something and painted something as it is…yet it is clearly shown that it is your creation)” b. “I used a stock photo and manipulated parts of it to create the X element (meaning you used the X element as it is but added or erased parts using smudge – healing etc)” Well, if the rules are not allowing the use of stock photo but only on reference this wallpaper is against the rules. As for the season concept…well it is not something that I would decide whether it is shown through your wallpaper or not, it depends on the other competitor’s wallpapers and their way of using this info from the rules. Other than that, I must admit that if I am making a mistake and being strict or wrong in any possible way, depending in my knowledge on digital painting of’ course, I will write another comment stating my apologies.

Hmmm....Well at 1st I really was just gawking it and saying "wow, how did she do it?" and stuff...but after looking at it more carefully I just have to ask...

How? How did they get in there?!?! I mean the bg shows them somewhere in a cave like place! How'd they get there?!? :PPP Also no matter how much I look at it...the bg just seems too real! But since having seen what you can do on previous walls I believe that ou really did make it from scratch...its just that next time I believe you should use pics you find as reference and not follow them straight. Letting your imagination do some of the work sometimes can produce the best results unexpectedly ;)

mmm.. well sorry to say this, as a team we always make and review the rules together.. and i have to agree with anolibb and mouritsa... i was thinking the same... when i first saw it i was like O_O .. is that a stock?... didn't we say NO to stock photos?... (o_o) then i read the description and i wasn't sure since i don't have much painting experience... but it still looks weird for a painted wall... some fishes and rocks are too sharp and look more like a photo, used underneath..

Anyway i still think that the wallpaper looks beautifull, outside the challenge it is an awesome piece.. But inside it... it's a bit disapointing since it's going a bit against the rules.. fell free to correct me if i'm wrong.. i'm just being honest and explaining what i thought.. i hope it doesn't sound too hard.. you know i love your work and i admire you two a lot...

I like the dark... I always seem to like dark walls (could be my photosensitive nature though). Something about the two characters doesn't seem to quite blend in well with the background but all in all I really like it. I hope I don't sound too critical! I couldn't begin to photoshop anything but I've been told I have an eye for it. oO

Wow, this is seriously some amazing work. To see it done in steps is pretty damn crazy must've took quite some time to do. And it shows in the final product. I really love the background of the wall simply a masterpiece. This wall is definitely my type of wall, the aura's of blue are so mesmerizing. OOOoOOo just so beautiful is all i can think so far. Absolutely a fave and keep up the spectacular job.

Another amazing wall from a challenge that has produced some truly stunning stuff. Never mind the challenge rules, it's a very well exected piece and that's that.

Totally less-than-three the underwater setting, it's just perfect for the scan. Only nitpick is that the air bubbles at the sides are a bit distracting, being so sharp and clear - could have been "pushed" into the background with some trasnparency and blurring.

An underwater scene that's so cool! I like the emotional pic and it's very well done. The bg is a lil different style then the characters but other then that it's a great piece. I just love the emotional that's display between the 2 characters the almost kiss moment is real sweet. I love it. fav ofc. :)

This wallpaper is simply gorgeous! It's sorta like watching a painter on television... they'll be painting a blob and you'll be like, what in the world is he doing? And before you know it, he turns it into trees and a sun. Awesome work on the aquatic environment. The fishes, the lighting, bubbles, and even corals are done wonderfully.

Overall effect is there as well. Regarding the long-over competition, I also don't see a season, as the fish nor the effects look particularly seasonal.
