Nice and cute background - I do agree the background is not very special. If there is not image on the background, the background would be very old fashion to me. However you did a good job adding the text and the texture behind it. Then the theme and image, it fits and very cute.

Cute theme you've got going here. I actually like the "plain" background... the colors do enough for it.

The font is interestingly done, using those block-type fonts and set on subtle opacity that blends in quite pleasantly into the whole design. Color hues are pleasing to look at with varying shades of orange and brown that enhances the "wet" look of the background lines. As for the Rei, she looks eyecatching in her uniform
