Here's to creating the one and only...I mean, second and only Arslan wallpaper! Yay! I spelled his name "Arslan", though sometimes it's spelled "Arislan", which I actually like better. Anyhoo, this wallpaper was pretty fun to make actually...to think I wanted to attempt to vector this scan!! O__o Which I obviously didn't...instead, I made a good old fashioned texture-y wallpaper, in my usual style. I hope I didn't "ruin" the scan like I sort of did the last time...this time, I wanted a dark, slightly grungy, texture wallpaper, and this is what I ended up with. It reminded me of an old painting or...something, at first. The title was going to be "A Royal Masterpiece" before, but I obviously changed it. I couldn't find a good place for the text.
Anyhoo, first thing's first, I extracted the scan. That wasn't too bad. Then came the background, which was really an uphill battle! I had no clue what I wanted to do...and it really changed colors a lot. So instead of struggling with choosing ONE color, it is now a rainbow of different hues: green, yellow/orange, and purple. All (I think) complimentary colors? Something like that! But yeah, the bg was all brushwork [thank you, aethereality.net for having brushes compatible with my PS 7.0], and same with the texture I created to overlay on the Arslan scan. All brushwork and default photoshop textures.
Oh, and in the back I wrote some text that sort of matches him...you can't really see it anymore since I faded it, but it said, "I am the king. I always will be, whether they think so or not. Obey my every word and the flowers will blossom every spring, and the snow will fall every winter. God chose me; my people chose me." Ok, maybe it doesn't fit him...it was more inspired by my history class today. XD
I guess that's all I have to say...other than this took a lot LONGER than I had initially expected. Try over 2 hours?? I don't know why, but hey, I think it's worth it. :3 I hope you like it. Enjoy!

Green and purple are complimentary colors I think, lol.
The background is pretty~ And I like the colors of Arislan here more than the original. Actually, I like this wallpaper a lot! The only suggestion that I have is to have less texture on his skin, because, to me, it makes his skin look leathery or something XD. I don't know what else to say right now, so I'll just go and fav this, haha.

Now this is simply gorgeous! <3 I am in love with how many textures you added! It does look crowded, but in a good way! I have to say, when I full viewed it I got a bit of a fright, he seemed to be looking right at me ^^" That was an effect of the textures, I suppose, since you focused on his eye :) Also loving the little brushes which add a lot of detail! 8)E Keep up the great work! (and don't think that just because you walled this scan I won't be expecting you to vector it lol! XD )

Woha, the textures and background fit the scan very well and give an ancient look. maybe a bit too much texture an the face but that's it. :D

Oh I like this wall,maybe it's also because the face of the character is the first thing I noticed,I mean I don't see so often walls where the accent falls on the face of the character so for me they are always welcomed.I like the flowers in the background,from what I see they are flowers and the colors too and there is something about this texture that makes me like every wall when I see it used!

When I saw the scan for the first time, I felt in love with it. I have even tried to do a wallpaper on my way... but the yours is REALLY gorgeous. The textures on the cloth and the brackground are sutile and smooth. The flowers and the color theme are just between beautiful and cute.

I have to say that I downloaded this wallpaper before without having the time to comment it! and I have to say that I really like it ^^ The texture work on this one is really nice even if some might think that it's overly done, I think that it brings an artistic touch to the wallpaper! Well I guess it's needless for me to say how fantastic this wallpaper was constructed and it's such an old school style at that. I like your technique predominantly because it reinvigorates my perception of how timeless classical art is!
