** G reetings!**
[A speical note: I just wanted to thank God/Jesus for helping me with this wallpaper. There were times I wanted to just give up but then we had a talk and we pushed threw together. When I needed ideas on my own or just didn't know how to do something. I asked and I listened. Thanks God/Jesus. I couldn't do any of this without you.]
The vision for this wall is to show how empty 'Sophie's' life at home really was. A feeling we all have one in a while about our life. Seeing her looking back on her town the thought comes. 'There has to be more to life'. Seeing the small town and its routine. Knowing her life isn't all she wants it to be. Living and taking care of her father hat shop. No one really there for her because her mother is off swooning the next rich man. With no friends to come by and no guy wanting to have anything to do with her unless there military guys looking for something she's not going to give. So, I hope you see what it is I am going for. That empty feeling in the pit of your heart and/or stomach. Knowing your stuck in a place that has long been over used and wanting something new. Something that has more meaning to life.
Now, I couldn't of gotten this far without a lot of help. With this only being my second wall. I had a lot of helpful advice, suggestion, and overall workable idea's. I'd like to thank Damoser for all his help. He ended up being the main person to grade my wallpaper but that doesn't mean I didn't use everyone the same. With mass PM's and many many revision!!! Thank you; Luna[-chan]; Microwar; Blulaguan18 [who was there from the beginning]; August199; Eddokun; and everyone else who gave there advice and comments!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Town/Village was a screen shot I had to do a lot of work with.
Now, in creating this wallpaper I stuck with the orginal view from the show. Its right after Howl saves her from the blob men and she talks with her sister. This was her ride home back to the place she doesn't belong. Just before the 'Witch of the Wastes' turns her into 'Grandma Sophie'. I had tried to make my own 'town/village' but that wasn't working out so well because it didn't match. So, I found the screen shot by the grace of God and it worked great. I had to do a little vectoring here and there but it was worth it in the end. Then when I got to the final stages in the wall the issue of lighting came into play. So, I choose I wanted it to be around 8 in the autum but I didn't know what that looked like. So, I waited for 3 to 4 days to caught what the sun looked like for real at 5 to 7. I finally seen what it looked like on a shopping outting with my Mother. I was very pleased to see how it all worked for real. It made it much easier to do on my wall. So, dispite my skill level. I like a good challenge that can take you to the next level. I don't care if your a newbie or not. Don't hold yourself back just because you don't know something. You can always learn and google!!! *^_^*heh
Thanks for all your help guy and gal's!!! ::Angel-chan::

noooooooooo!!!! i was supposed to be the first to comment.
angel-chan, it's been a long and somewhat bumpy journey, but you made it! i'm so glad you made it. this is a beautiful wall, and you did a great job catching the emotion involved in it. when a wall reaches out and says "look at me. I SAiD LOOK AT ME! LOOK AGAIN!," it's a good thing. this does that. at first glance, "hmm.. it's pretty," then you look again, and stare for a little while, not at pieces of it, but the whole thing, and you think, "it's really pretty."
to all of you out there. sit back and stare at it a little. the sky will start to come alive and move, and the scene becomes real, like you actually there. that makes a wall more than a wall, it makes it an experience.
fave!

Hi Angel-chan, you sent me a message with a link to this wall in the session gallery. Sorry but i had little time. Now i see that your wall is in the gallery - GREAT . It's the first time i see the original scan with which you worked, and i say once again - GREAT - what you did with it. The clouds are very fluffy and you were able to catch the mood. You did it once again - Congratulations !! ^_^

Ah! It's done! Awesome! =D I really like how the sky turned out, you did a great job matching the color scheme with the sky so it looks convincingly like it's really that time of day. Plus, something about leaving a town at sunset, it really evokes the mood that the title "More to life" seems to allude to. anyway, it turned out great =)

Aw.....I love it. Especially when I first saw this in the gallery section and I was like "Yay, its a howl's moving castle wall" :D Anyway, I really LOVE the way you did the sky. Its just so gorgeous and breath taking. I could just sit there and stair at it for hours. Your vector job is great and I like the mood and the lighting on everything. Awesome job and I hope to see more of your work. :)

I have to say that this is quite a beautiful scene from a great movie. My only critique is that the whole scene is filled with rich, vibrant colors, which doesn't quite fit the idea you said you're trying to show. It might be better if you de-saturated the duller parts of her life in the scene, like the town and the streetcar she's on. You could even limit the range of colors in the scene to add a bit of symbolism to help show your idea. Still a great wall.

I loved this part in the movie for precisely the feeling you talked about... that lonely feeling. I love that about this wallpaper, because it really does evoke it. Pretty!

I really love this wallpaper. The colors are really beautiful and the although the mood is sad it reminds me that Sophie finds what she was looking for in the end!

I didn't even know you had this little gem in your gallery! It's amazing. I really love the way you created the space on the left that doesn't look empty. The leaves look really well done.

I am AMAZED at how you created this beautiful wallpaper out of the original scan. The rainbow colours are vivid yet believable, and I am especially impressed by how you put everything together at the end.
It's a great job! :)

This is an amazing wall! I'm especially impressed that this was done with GIMP as many people don't give it the credit it is obviously due. More importantly, this wall captures what I felt the film was trying to convey in those scenes (some of my favorite scenes in the film actually) Once again, well done and this definitely deserves a favorite!
