Spring is here. It's been a whole year since I last posted, and the first piece I've submitted since enrolling in art school. I painted this in Photoshop on a new Wacom Cintiq that I will probably be shedding some pounds to pay for--which is fine, since I put some on over the winter. =)
Incidentally, I was reading up on color theory last week and learned how to "read" the Lab color space in the Photoshop color picker. Before, I only knew how to use the HSB color space to choose colors. With Lab, it is a far more intuitive process to manipulate relative chroma and to play complements off each other. But if you want to get accurate (realistic) brightness levels for surfaces of a single color, HSB is still easier to use. So now I switch between the two constantly. Did you know that Multiply and Screen layer modes in Photoshop correspond to subtractive and additive color models, respectively? OMG!

Very nice drawing! :'D And the perspective you chose is interesting too! But I think I don't like the filter you used for the bg. o: And why don't you try to add some clouds since the sky looks kinda empty >__<
