Luminous Arc Twilight Forest

yahoo for the new style! :3 ah, so this one was the one you were working with him :o anyway, using a mouse I definitely think this is pretty good, the background alone is good. though I somewhat thought about the character standing out a bit. the color, maybe? or maybe the lighting? I am clueless about lighting too, so you know. so this might be not really the case.

maybe... put outline at least for the big brown tree on the center of the wallpaper, and I do think the root on the right bottom has too much brightness. and... some grass are gradually become darker as they touch the tree, good. but I think some parts aren't made like that.

anyway, I still love the overall look and want to see your next wallpaper with painting style.

PS: just ignore the first two paragraph if you want, since it's only something coming from me, who is clueless about painting. PS2: seems I can't open the image on the xs.to (again, I hate my internet connection here)

Looks nice, especially the background.

Yes, the background is lovely. But the characters don't really blend with the background :/ First, both the chars are have a predominant hue of Orange, while the whole background is green-ish.

Also, neither the characters or the tree roots cast any shadows...and I think it may look better if they did. Also, another thing I just noticed. The light on the chars is very powerful, while the background is barely as lighted as them (o_o)

It is obvious you put effort in the background, but (for me at least) the above stop this wall from being super :(

the non collab is a s.u.c.c.e.s.s! \ o / god damn this internet is slow! ill edit my comment later with a better one when i get back xD *cant fullview* but i know ur very good at painting trees. :D homigosh is that water? o: EDIT: ok now ill properly comment ;3 shading! give the lovely trees and characters some shading, and it would be much nicer :D and maybe try and give the rock more detail, cus now it seems a bit blurry :] and maybe cont the dark lines on the tree trunk all the way up, cus it kinda stops at the top. and add more nice grass around the bottom of the tree. I think it would be good if you vectored the grass, because it hard to mouse paint grass. good job anywho! :D we'll work on ur next wall together! \o/

didnt i told you to vector and then shade using mouse? =_= .... the wall is decent, however the main problem is your rush to submit. if you spended more time in this, would look better.

The overall is great that the painted feel is a bit confusing to me maybe if there were still edges it would do great (i think) also the flowers... err.. you should've used a different one as the one you used doesn't match the wall much maybe lilies in the water? I don't know much about flowers.. and they seem to be a bit eye catching.. maybe if they had a dark shading.. Fallen leaves is okay but really needs more contrast with the bg as it kinda blends with it.. making me more confused

MOUSE PAINTS the grass is a bit stiff but it's ok and whatever failure you can blame on your INTUOS BEARING PARTNER WHO LIEK DISAPPEARED OFF THE EARTH.

Hmm...I think you did a pretty good job on the wallpaper. You made the scan fit...or more like you made the background fit the scan very well. The only thing I would question is the light source of your background.

There's a light source in the scan (top right), but I can't really see the light source you are using for your forest.

I like the reflection you have in the water. It makes it look more believable.

I really like your idea, I just think maybe you might need some more value (like highlights and shadows) to make your background "pop" out more :]

Oh yeah, one more thing: You might want to add a shadow under the characters and tree so that they don't look like they're just floating there :o

Other than that, I love your concept for this wallpaper :D I think it was a good choice in drawing the background yourself rather than doing a generic Photoshop background.

The background is very well drawn. And the water is just great. ^^ The main tree haven't got any shades at the edges which makes it look flat, though. Fav.
