Song Illustration #14: Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch - Sun goes down (by David Jordan) First of all, the puffy potatoes in the sky are clouds XD I know I still need to practice but I like the clouds in this wallpaper. I tried to keep the shading correct and shaded them with both blue and orange - different hues, different opacities and so on. There was a sun behind Luchia but she covered it up o_o I wanted to create a warm scenery, just listen to the song if you want to know what I mean (I love this song to bits!). I like how the grass came out too :3 The perspective: looking from below, to clear up the weird angle of the clouds and grass.
As for the scan, I originally wanted to vector a very blurry Kaleido Star screenshot of Sora dancing but I got discouraged after tracing a few lines =_= I wasn't in the mood for heavy reconstruction and detail guessing. Then I found this scan: Live Start! by moonelf313. The perspective was right so I gave up vectoring the KS screenshot and concentrated on the scan. Of course, I didn't want some cut off wallpaper (plus I wanted to focus on the background more) so I began reconstructing the parts which were covered/missing. After finishing the right part of the hair and her right leg, I discovered this scan. Haha. No matter though, I could care less. This is by far the strangest thing I've ever done, I usually vector something completely ._. However, this scan was of good quality so there was no point in vectoring it completely - I vectored only the missing/covered parts. Oh, I used this scan to reconstruct her right leg: Lucia 1 by Zaza4.

I didn't even notice that you had to reconstruct so much of her!! It was so good! I guess I accidentally skipped over that in your description on theO. So wow, that makes this wallpaper even better. :3 Like I said before, I love the clouds. I think they're really pretty...you made them look like a painting. And I think that's maybe where there's a tad bit of a problem with the wallpaper. I just don't think the girl matches as well as she should...I don't know. It's almost as if she's too clear and crisp for the painted/soft cloud background. *doesn't know what she's talking about*
But anyhoo, another job well done, Oli-chan. ^_^ Keep making those awesome wallpapers I love that inspired me to work harder on mine!

Say, I like this wallpaper; the really interesting, soft-colored background is really quite well done. In some areas I do concur with Angel-Zakuro above, in particular where she mentioned the difference between the beautifully, almost painted image of the background contrasted against the rather more crisp character in front. I have very little image-editing experience to lay claim to, but as a viewer, this is the first point I noticed.
Anyways, you still did a great job on the wall overall, congrats. Say, I'd be interested in seeing a link to the music you mentioned; I have a fairly large collection of anime music, and am always looking for new pieces that might be good. I did a bit of researching for the particular song you mentioned "Til the Sun Goes Down", but while I easily found the ost for the series online, I have had difficulty in locating this one song; perhaps you could provide a link?

itsnice but formy tatse the coulds looks a bit weird and the fact hat she has a micriphone on a large field -.-. The background is made really nice like the style so its a great wrk
