Very very cool wallpaper. Really. The style of your vector (lacking of outlines in some areas) reminds me of Tama's earlier works and it's pretty nice. the sand and the water (finally someone who draws the water like this and doesn't use lame filters) are also pretty nice. The text doesn't exactly convince me though, you should either remove it or trying using a better serif font, in my opinion.

But overall speaking I like it, and it's worth to be faved.

I really like this style of vectoring too. The way you draw the water is pretty uncommun and it goes well with the vector of Asuka. I better like the version with the text without it lacks of something I think. The font doesn't botter me so much, I like it, but I think it could have been nice to add something like a little line art asround it or beside it. Just a suggestion ^^ Thanks for sharing this!

Really nice. I'm impressed that you managed to recreate so much. The art style on this is really interesting, simple but intriguing. This is very pretty and going on my favorites as a really unique example.

This is a really good wall. The sand and water are very well done. The Asuka vector is pretty well done. I particularly like the way the arm is in bandages with them falling off. Also the torn up plug suit. Very nice.

the thumbnail was not as attractive as the full size wallpaper, i thought it was another nice wallppaper but realize it was very nicely done when view in full size

I think the one thing I really enjoy about this wallpaper is the muted colors and the look as though it's been painted onto something like rice paper. The softness is really quite different from a lot of anime based wallpapers I have seen, which makes it a subtle look for my desktop. Great work!

i like the muted colors. love how the ocean was done. I like the spare use of outlines and the vector of Asuka really fits with everything. The font is fine for me either way. This is really simple and beautiful!

Nice work.. (I had this scan next in line to vector...) I don't think the water has near enough detail, especially in the foam. But it works.. On a side note, the original art is copyrighted to Mr. Sadamoto, not Gainax.

That is one of the best NGE walls I've ever seen. It looks like you put a ton (A TON!) of work into it, too. I love all the subtle touches with the bandages and Misato's cross on the sand along with the red sea. You really did your homework on that last one. And the mood you create is pretty much perfect. All the textures come across very nice as well and not too overbearing.

A truly impressive wallpaper. If it was in 1024x765 I would download it IMMEDIATELY. Sadly, 1600x1200 is so big I have to scroll both ways double to see the whole thing.

Regardless, I get a very compelling feeling from looking at it. I think you did a great job. All that vectoring must have been troublesome. My favorite parts are most likely Asuka herself (the suit and the bandaged arm look great) and the water. I love the font as well, very fitting.

the vectoring was amazing, i doubt i can find much flaw in this amazing wall *blinded by the greatness =P*, but as it is my life goal and deep passion to find flaws in everything (pardon me, i'm only trying to help, but it's probably goign to sound rude T_T i'm sorry), i will "try" to name a few that i think are flaws

-the mouth...hm...it can do some work? -the ocean is red, yes, but if i remember right it's deep red...maybe it's the sand's problem, as i remember right....the sky was blood red/darkblue...so the sand can have effects from that -the shadow of the cross, it's a good idea, but the shadow is abit weird -different lighting on the water, as i remember right the sun never fell =P

ok, i know you did a great job and i believe this is the best vector wall i have seen >_<b, but again, as i said, it is my obession and life passion to poke at people (though not always intentionally) i hope you will forgive me for my rudness.

nice wall. but theres a few things driving me nuts the perspective is off. like...way off. the points don't converge. they totally miss each other. the technical aspect of the wall, the vectoring is really nice. as is the idea and composition, but she an dthe water are at 2 different angles, so it looks incorrect. also, the second thing, is the shadows. it makes them look like asuka and the necklace are floating about the sand. those are 2 things i would seriously concider fixing. it would definitly earn a fav from me if that part was fixed.

Awesome background! The texture adds depth to the image and the colors are just perfect... I don't have the patience to spend this amount of time vectoring an image... so I'm really impressed with this piece.

A beautiful drawing of ASUKA. Even though it came from a comic you did an excellent job colouring it in. Like there is no outlines, you did some shadowing and it looks like something that would come from a movie. That's how excellent your quality of the colouring is.

I really like this wallpaper, as it has been said before, the vectoring is top-notch and the colors on this piece are impressive given the source of the image. The LCL and the beach are created with the same level of quality as vector and this is a favorite in my books.

The only thing that catches my eye is how Asuka appears 2D; maybe just a bit unrealistically flat. But that may just be a limitation of the pose she's in and from the perspective the manga had originally intended. Or I'm just saying things I know nothing about :P

Anyway, great wallpaper; it's still finding fans more than a year after the original date of submission :)

I always loved asuka... because of her hair... that was mainly the theme colour she had. In this wallpaper you mantained the same type of reddish colours and that came pretty awesome! I've never seen that image of her.. she even looks like an angel :3 also, nice choice tu put her on the right side (I hate when people put the important part of the wallpaper on the left :/) great work!

It's been stated before but... The fact it came from a black and white manga image is really cool. I loved how you did a perfect job shading it, and coloring in Asuka. It's amazingly well done, and I can't help but be amazed everytime I look at the wallpaper.

Wow, at first look, I didn't notice it didn't have borders, I thought it was rather plain... until I saw the actual full resolution, and I'm astounded and in awe from it's sheer awesomeness; seriously. For a moment I thought it was cell-shaded...or something, and I was completely blown away. Thanks for the paper and the trip. :)

Totally amazing, unusual, attractive Wallpaper. Almost an "icon wallpaper"! Excellent (hard) work, creativity, composition, colors, atmosphere... A manga scan... Oh, I love to see what skilled people can do with such a "poor" resources... Really an amazing wallpaper, very outstanding. And very intense...

My only suggestion is about a more realistic shadow in the sands. It works pretty well this way, I am just talking about another possibility.
