Tough, I'm commenting on the scan quality anyway. if you put it up in the gallery for criticism, you are going to get cristicism, so just accept it. The scan has very, VERY rough edges that still need lots of work and cleaning- the blur thing just doesn't work or blend well either, it's just plain a low quality looking scan and really spoils the nice atmosphere of the wall. the colors are good and the sky design is good, but it doesn't merge with the scan at all. Effort must be put into making scans part of the wall- it is not enough to just put a scan in a wall. Good ideas.

hmmm very EMO. It's alright- the blood is ok, but not too terribly convincing. The emptiness isn't much of a problem, but some may not like it. Character looks alright. Cutting is a dumb thing to do.. especially when you got friends that really care about you and really wish you would quit.

I really admire the amount of time and effort you put into this, but there are a lot of issues in this wall that are really sticking out- mostly blending problems... -The tree just doesn't blend with the rest of the wall- it looks too 3D and too Real compared to the softer animated look of the rest of the wall. -the glow around the characters is rather tacky and doesn't really add anything to the wall. -The blown-up semi-transparent faces in the sky are really, really distracting and destroy the entire atmosphere by making it look like you tried to fill a bunch of space last minute. -The texture and shading on the ocean and sky doesn't really match up that well with the characters or the tree, and looks really flat. -Why is there a huge freakin pine tree on a dock on the edge of the ocean? Perspective...

However, on the good side... +the vectors of the characters is well done and looks pretty smooth +snow flakes look cool, nice job +atmosphere is good and calm +there is no cheesy text to spoil it +colors go togather

Overall, the ideas and such are pretty good, but the layout just looks like a bunch of seperate things piled on top of each other.. nothign looks like it blends with anything else, which is a big sore spot for scenic walls.

Well.. it's improved a little bit over the session zero submission, but still needs work. The extraction is pretty rough around the edges. The background just looks like a big green cloud filter thrown over a picture of a city. The text is alright. Not much else to comment on...

Vector is alright, but it has a few rough spots around the edges. The soft blurred and brushed look of the rest of the wall really conflicts with the hard, defined lines of a vector image- there isn't much blending going on. The roses are much too big, as mentioned- loks out of perspective. The ground doesn't ahve quite enough definition to it, and make the patha nd building look like they are floating there to some extent. The text doesn't blend at all- the 3D thing just doesn't work with this wall, but the font is decent. The decoration in the top left seem to be slapped on top and doesn't blend well either. Overall, the colors are nice, the idea is nice, but the wall as a whole does not mesh togather well and feels very unsettled.

Something about this wall feels a little confusing.. like there is almost too much going on. Not sure why. The earth in the background just doesn't seem to fit.. it looks like it is really crowding the image and doesn't belong. The sky and buildinga re nice, good job witht hat. The scan is pretty good as well- clean looking for the most part. Not really feelin' this for some reason, but good job overall.

Nice job Dias. The sky seems a bit odd and less interesting compared to the rest of the wall, but it still fits. The buildings and perspective is pretty trippy and works out quite well, even if they ain't perfect. The symbol on her cheek turned out nice and the scan is pretty clean overall.

Definately some effort here- good job with the vectors- the only thing that caught my eye was teh lines on teh ferris wheel are a little rouch around the edges for some reason. THe buildings aren't bad.. pretty typical for someone new to making cities. There are only a handful of people around here I know of that does them really well, and I'm not one of them, haha! Text feels a little weird, but oh well.. Good job. I'm too nice when I'm sleepy...

I think a lot of the complaints listed thus far are pure personal preference and nitpicking.. The character looks great- only minor extraction issues that have little impact on quality. I really like the blending and overall feel of the wall- it all comes togather quite nicely. The old watercolor look really works well for this wall, and the stock integration (I assume it's a photo at least). Very good feel overall. I like th text.. looks fine to me. Too bad it is a notebook res. +fav

I'm not crazy about the plain metal panel, but overall it is simple and clean, and has some real thought in it. Nice job!

Nice job! There are a few spots in there that are slightly awkward and have some un-necessary points and edges (such as the hand), but overall, not a bad vector! Sharp wall.

There is only one thing stopping this from being a really great wall Claud- The rough vector work. Your layout, concept, colors, and texture are great. The Vector work is flat out bad unfortunately- you have tons of corners and are lacking in nice round curves throughout the wall. It really looks great, but the pointy vectors are huge put-off. Get your vector skills up so it can be awesome! :)

oK, I have to agree about the inconsistent passage of walls, but people aren't perfect. The truth that remains is that if your wall is good, it WILL get through, guaranteed.

I agree with Tris on this one- your wall is not up to acceptable standards. The Scan image is just plain bad quality. The edges are rough and the colors are choppy, not smooth. You may have to re-cg this one. The background is just a splash of effects with little detail work put in. I don't know what the thing in the top left corner is- is it an image or effect? At any rate really work on putting more solid detail in teh wall in place of the splashed togather effects.

as said, tone down the colors a bit please- it is painfully intense. The biggest issue here is the scan- the quality is pretty bad. It look slike you saved on a very low quality. Never save below a 7 or 70% quality in photoshop or similar program- this will eliminate the smoothing issues on the scan. Also, work on the extraction and smooth out your lines, as mentioned. That is uber important.

Not really sure about using this for a wall (personal preference), but the quality is good at least. +You did a good job with the vector- it ain't perfect, but it's smooth and clean for the most part. +The simple background work in the corner fits pretty good, even if it is a bit blurry. That may have been intentional, I don't know. Overall, pretty decent wall without text. Sometimes no text is better anyway.

sexy wall...There are a few issues though: 1) don't forget your signature or email or website or something to identify the wall. this wall should not have been approved without a sig fyi. 2)your extraction is decent but has some rough edges that were covered up with light effects in the wall- you should fix the scratchy edges. 3) the clouds don't seem to quite blend- in comparison to the bright and rich colors in the rest of the wall, the coulds are too dull and need more accenting and color, even if it is sunset. Ya know how clouds glow funny colors during ocean and mountain sunsets? Try some of that eh. 4) the sky above the clouds is unnaturally dark for a sunset, it should have a little lighter dusk color to blend correctly. 5) The background looks a little too photo-esque, and doesn't quite blend with the animated look of the girls. Try some brush detailing and softening to blend it a little better. Overall, nice lookin' wall... not bad.

Hmm not really feelin this :/ The background effect doesn't really look like water, but it seems like it is supposed to- instead it is just an abstract that resulted from a few filters slopped togather. the Love Hina text doesn't really go with anything and looks pretty tacky, especially with the transparency. The extract is decent btu coudl be smoother, and the scan is of a reasonable quality. All in all, needs lots of work.. things just don't blend well at all on this piece.

Very nice- good blending and effects. Very flashy and complicated, which makes it bad for icons, but looks cool. Biggest problem is the scan quality- it has a slight fuzziness to it that really damages the crisp flashy look. The text looks great, just touch up the scan and you are set.

First thing I tell every wallie newb: don't try and make a wallpaper until you know how to use your tools. A plumber, electrician, or painter would not go out and buy a bunch fo fancy tools their first day on the job, and expect to make something look great, whether it be a sink, a painting, or chandellier. Take some time, a lot of time, and figure out what stuff in photoshop, or your program of choice, does. Figure out the blending modes, the pen tool usage, brushing techniques, etc. Once you can create decent backgrounds and happy with your abilities, then start finding scans and walling them. You will make MUCH better walls this way, and people will LIKE them. If you don't ahve any akills learned yet, chances are, it won't turn out good at all. Everyone needs experience to get started.. I subjected the world to several very bad walls before I figured out that I needed to learn my tools first. There are tons of tutorial sites, books, and forums in addition to this one, where you can learn to use each tool- google! Good luck! :D

First, it is very bed site etiquitte to remote link pictures on someone else's server, particularly ones that large. That's called stealing bandwidth. Second, before you try and post those to the AP gallery, get permission from the site you got them from. I don't allow uploading of scans from my site on ANYONE else's sites, due to redundancy, so under dark may feel the same way. Ask first.

First thing to pay attention to, cause it's what everyone sees first and notices most: the scan. The qualiy of your scan is poor- the colors are faded, and the lines are not smooth. Work on bringing up the quality of the scan. Next, I'd suggest swapping the place of the sig and the wall text, as acidflower mentioned. The sky looks pretty neat- good idea with that, I'd keep it. You could add some faint "M" birds or something like that to make the sky look a little more interesting. Keep workin eh.

Hmmm first things first, focus your energy on cleaning up that scan. The guy looks pretty rough, as do a few of the cards. If necessary, do some re-coloring and fade in the layers to repair the blotchy spots. The arrangement lends it self very well to an abstract... a few ideas: try some webbing or some such thing behind the cards connecting them. Another idea coudl be drawing a path between teh cards and have an overworld type map look in the background, like he's travelling. You could try a nice burst design that radiates out from the main guy, or you could do a large tree int eh background, or other plants. Good luck.
