My first wall

Wow, I don't know if I want to believe "first" but okay, I'll take your word for it :)

Here's an off-the-wall (haha thats a pun!) suggestion, in the background horizon portion of it, can you make it go from sun to black quicker? Like, have the edges of the paper be ALOT darker, or make a gradient from the sun to dark? Hopefully I'm getting my point across. It may not look too good, but it may be something to play with. If it does come out nice, you might be able to play some individual lighting off of the lantern-looking things in the trees (I can't tell, your link to the big wall is broken)

Eureka!

Yeah, you may want to take the advice of everybody else and watch the series. I love the art too, and while I liked the original image this one was as a picture, I never felt that it fit the series. Eureka (left) reminded me a bit of Rei in Evangelion, but a Rei towards the end of the series when she was beginning to become happy and independent. Renton is you typical fly-by-the-seat of your pants type character, and in the pic, he looks down, depressed, etc. So yeah, watch the series, and maybe pick another pic (sorry, I see that you've worked on it for three days...quality is good though!)

Again, submission worthy?

Nice and clean, I'd certainly submit it.

Have you ever been hit on by someone of the same sex?

Haha, sort of yeah. At my old job, we use to make tons of jokes of, well, such nature. Then I got my new job, and I tried to keep the joke alive...but it's really hard to do when somebody there IS actually gay.

One thing I will say though, in all of the tutorials, they won't tell you two things,

1) You need patience 2) You will make some pretty bad stuff (when you are both experienced and a novice)

I use to make walls, and yeah, not so great. Long story short, I got a job as a graphic artist, and even then I wasn't great. I didn't become something near the word "good" until I was well into it, so yeah, you need alot of patience.

Also, other places to go, find a waller's website (like in their signature). In the site, see if they have any tutorials. If they do great (because it's usually from something in one of their walls), if they don't, check their links section, and go to another waller's site, and repeat. That's where I learned the majority of my experience.
