I think what made this series so great was the depth of the characterization that went into it. So many animes have one-dimensional characters. But everyone in the show was clearly well developed. You saw Youko's transition from the awkward girl to the Empress of Kei, and it actually did it well , which is more than most shows can say. All in all, the show was extremely well done, and its a shame the anime version left so much hanging.

I really got into Ranma when my friend randomly checked out practically the entire series from the library one day. As far as comedies go, Ranma 1/2's concept was just pure gold. There was so much that could be done with a guy who would randomly turn into a girl, and Rumiko did an excellent job with it. There were just some situations that were so perfect. Like when he had to pretend to be his own fiance when his mother came to town. The show was gold.

To me the reason Rock Band is so much better than Guitar Hero is because its more of an experience. Guitar Hero is a solo game, despite its limited two-player functionality, and since its built solely about the guitar its a bit better in that regard. If you don't have many friends or relatives, then I can see someone preferring Guitar Hero. Rock Band, though, is an experience. Its more than just four people playing a rhythm based game. You're all relying on each other and working towards a common goal. Guitar Hero just can't duplicate those moments when you're in an intense solo, someone drops out, and everyone is screaming at you to hang in there. Its just a better experience.
