If the show is 13-24 episodes I tend to space it out to 2 episodes per sitting and maybe 3 for the final 3 episodes so as to experience the entire climax and resolution in one sitting. For shows with like 50 or more episodes I watch as many as I can in one sitting, so like 4 or 5 a day.

Ever try watching Anime around other people?
I would have to agree with a lot of people here. For me, I tend to recommend anime to people but around other people who don't understand it I end up having to explain why there are so many maids or why 90% of the characters are women and depending on how they process it, then I either enjoy company or not.
Angel Beats!
I thought the fact that the viewer, at least me, bought into the fact that the characters needed to escape by fighting their way out. It seemed like the best course of action from the beginning. Yet over time both the viewer and characters realized that accepting the true reason why they were there, for a second chance at their past lives, was most important.
Summoning a character on anime/manga to Real World
Maria from Hayate the Combat Butler to be my maid.
[discussion] Dragon Ball Kai
I kinda agree with your assessment. I understand condensing it as it is hundreds of episodes but at the same time the protracted battles and conflicts seem to slowly raise the stakes and in a way adds weight to the final resolution (and Goku's spirit bomb) so that when the enemy is finally vaporized there is this huge catharsis. I think in this way the filler episodes, or episodes depicting peace time, are required to give distance between these colossal conflicts and allow the catharsis to subside and be replaced naturally by either a sense of peace in the viewer or even a blood lust for more battle!
How long has anime become a serious hobby for you?
A few months, I am quite a novice but I think I have built a nice foundation over the summer.
Does anyone ever feel this way?
The fact that people create these worlds in manga and anime is probably for the same reason. Real life can be boring and imperfect so we supplement with these mediums. Not to mention the author may like to convey a feeling that is a feeling in reality that helps us better cope with reality. But I'm painting broad strokes and I'm not a not psychologist. But maybe I would like to be a cyborg psychologist that pilots a Gundam...
What do you think about "Toradora"?
I really enjoyed Toradora! too. I think the only thing I wasn't thrilled about was the fact that I knew Taiga was a tsundere character from the beginning and that Ryuuji and her would get together by the end. But I suppose even so the tension between them as they chased other people and Ami pointing out their ignorance was interesting. I was glad to see resolution in each character including Ryuuji's mother.
Will you raise your kids to watch anime? (or do you already)
I grew up on anime in the 90's and it wasn't until recently that I got back into it. But now that I see anime is much more than the shallow, censored, beat'em up stuff I watched on TV almost two decades ago I definitely would at least introduce it to my future children. As long as they can get past the fact that "cartoons" can actually have depth to them and in fact more depth than 95% of the TV shows and movies I've seen personally. I, like probably everyone here, believe anime is a valuable medium and perhaps an underrated one in the US at the moment. Then again I am on a forum full of people of my viewpoint so I may be wrong.
EVA new film: Q
I know, the anticipation is killer. I guess even more so for me since I was introduced via the movies (which I really enjoyed) rather than having the entire story through Neon Genesis with the movies as a sort of condensed version. If you have watched the series would you recommend watched that first and then the movies second? Also it sounds like Q is due Fall next year.

Saving…

I've seen the remastered version a few times and I wouldn't be against watching it again through the interpretation of Kai but, though perhaps an idealistic expectation, I would like to see updated visuals and some cleanup of some of the plot.
