Definately one of my favorite Mai Hime walls. It should be Tokiha and not Tokihai, though.

The plot was actually good (and not as lacking as many believe) if you pay attention. It's just the way the japanese tell stories. Gotta think about it a lot.

Advent Children was indeed excellent, and not just because it was pretty and exciting. It actually had a good plot. to quote a friend:

"I actually really liked AC. What Jenova was is fully explained in the actual game so that's why they didn't spend much time on it. They just assume everyone who watches will have played some. Geostigma is the disease caused by the Planet seeking revenge on all the people involved in the original Reunion in the actual game and those who were exposed to Jenova through the Lifestream during the present day (and since in the end of the game, the Lifestream rose up from around the Planet to cover Midgar so as to ward off Meteor, most people infected with Geostigma are in the city and surrounding area). In the game, the people involved in Reunion were exposed to Jenova's cells due to experiments carried out by the Shinra Company and were all branded with a number. Red XIII was part of the series, but they didn't expose him for some reason or the cells didn't take to his body. They never explained in the game. Anywho, the reason the Planet is so pissed, is because Jenova was involved with the calling of Meteor, which almost destroyed the Planet.

Now as for Kadaj and the gang, those three were sort of like projections of Sephiroth's spirit created by the cells of Jenova that got into the Lifestream at the Northern Crater. More specifically, they were imbodiments of Sephiroth's desire to get a hand on Jenova so he could go find his Promised Land again, like in the game.

As for the core of the movie, it's actually more about Cloud forgiving himself than this whole Reunion thing. It's fun watching the movie over again when you actually know that the wolf is representative of Zack being with him and checking out all the places it pops up. The wolf is *always* where Aeris's symbols were too. Even the first time when the wolf is sniffing around Zack's sword, there were flowers near the sword at some point as well. I think this movie effectively killed all Cloud/Aeris-shippers who understood all the symbolism and crap and even some who didn't when Cloud called Aeris 'Mother' XD And hard-core FFVII freaks, like myself, remember that Aeris told Cloud she used to date Zack AND later on in Gonganga village, Zack's parents tell us he wrote home about her XD I'm pretty sure that Aeris only stopped dating him because Zack disappeared (the Nibelheim incident) if you look at how that letter was one of the last they got from Zack."

The person I quote really says it best, but they're not here to say it themselves.

Best Game Soundtracks

Hmmmmmm. Seems like the majority of game soundtrack listed here are rpgs. Here's something different, a FPS. Unreal Tournament 2004 has hands down the best soundtrack of any game I have ever played. If you disagree, you are wrong. I'm sorry. Not only is the music beatifully composed, it fits the game perfectly. It adds to the mood of each map in a way that gets your adrenaline pumping like no other game. This music brews excitement, and suspense. It's also in high quality ogg format ^^

For anyone who owns the game or knows someone who does, my favorite tracks (which can be found in the game's folder) are: KR Skaarj Assault KR Serenity KR Hyperblast Redux KR UT2003 Menu KR UT2004 Menu SDG ONS05 SDG ONS08

Give em a listen ^.~

What Games Are You Waiting For?

I don't think it's been mentioned yet, but to me it's a game that MUST be had the first day it comes out, and that is Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. It's going to be simply wonderful. I look forward to just about every other ps2 game that everyone does, of course, but they've already been given their time in the spotlight by other posters.

Gotta say, though, I don't really look forward to any Xbox360 titles. If I didn't already own FFXI I'd probably look forward to it, but that's not the case. It's just that the majority of good games are on pc or other consoles. I haven't heard of any games that make me hands shake with anticipation just yet. Well, it's new, so I'm sure there'll be some.

Chrono Cross

My favorite thing about that game was that you never really got experience. Your stats just went up over time. I liked the capsules, too. One of the most interesting spell systems I've ever seen. It sure was an innovative and original game. It really makes you appreciate effort a lot more when you think about games like this. I really wouldn't want a sequal unless it'd be just as good or better, though. If it wasn't that would ruin the image of the first. Example; The Matrix. Generally when I hear people talk about the Matrix it's usually about how much the second two movies sucked.

I was playing Shadow of the Colossus a few weeks ago and tried climbing on to the Lizard-like one in the coloseum, failed, and kinda slipped under his side. I ended up invisible. I turned off my mask and cape that I unlocked and then back on and I was just a mask and cape running around. I found it quite hilarious. It lasted untill I quit and loaded again, even through cutscenes.

Do Ghosts Exist?

Hmmm. Ghosts or not? One side of me says that all the ghost stories ever can't all be lies. Surely ghosts must exist. On another side, there is the thought that once we die nothing remains. That side of me dismisses ghosts as some hopeful foolery spawned by the fear of death and its nothingness. I don't know what to believe.

Oh man, I loved the end. My favorite part was... *don't read ahead if you don't want to be spoiled* ...when they let you play as Dormin XD Oh that was awesome. I enjoyed breathing doom on my enemies.

*end spoiler*

Oh man, definately one of the best games of the year. The graphics, even if not the best, are awesome because of the sheer amount of detail in the movement of objects. If this had been a ps3 release, I would probably pee my pants just from the graphics. Such an original game, too. A lot of imagination and effort went into this game. It's games like this that found my belief that the ps2 is better than any other console (even the Xbox360).

Nintendo following Sega's footsteps

That's interesting. I didn't know that about the controllers. But then again, I've heard so little about the revolution that I was bound not to know. Yeah, I guess Nintendo did what I said they needed to, then. Amazing how much ignorance can shift one's perspective on things. I agree, though. Nintendo does need more third parties making games for their consoles. People like Konami. I want Metal Gear Solid 4 more than I want to eat for the next 3 days, and I'm getting a ps3. Konami will probably do like they've done before and come out with a better version (like substance and subsistence) and make it on multiple consoles. It'd be awesome to see them include the revolution if they did that again.

How could a simple allusion ever go so wrong? Jusi was just alluding to the death of Sega's consoles, not exactly comparing Nintendo to it. Anyway, I do agree that Nintendo might be doing a good by trying to appeal to non-gamers (one of my uncles has slightly deformed hands, and he will probably get one), but I know a lot of my friends who are turned away by the controller. It's as if they forfeited some of their appeal to regular gamers to make room for non-gamers. I think that if they really want to do something innovative, they would have an idea that appeals to both equally, without losing appeal on the already stronger side, the gamers. Then, of course, I'd like to see them have a wider variety of games. I can't remember any puzzle games for the Gamecube. It's too bad Tetris hasn't been popular on consoles, that's one of my favorite games. I bet Tetris would do the DS lots of good.

FFXI. Entanglement being a good word for it, too. I wake up, sign on to FFXI, play all day, and sign off to go to sleep. It actually stops me from watching anime ; ; Well, this is only during my vacation for a few weeks around christmastime. There's work to be done every other time.

Haha. What a great game. I never did like the plotline characters at all (except for beowulf, because he's most like Rdm, which is my favorite job in FFXI) because their main job overwrites squire. With squire out of the picture they can't learn charge, so getting job points with them sucked. I pretty much gave up on them. My favorite team was Ramza, 2 males (I called them 'The Twins' and always made them the same job ^^), and 2 females. Ramza and the 2 males endgame for me are either all monks or lancers. I always gave them blade grasp so they had a 97% chance to evade most attacks. When they were lancers I gave them quick charge from time mage, so they'd finish jumping in half the time. My 2 females are a white mage and black mage, both with time ability as their sub. In Deep Dungeon I would always use Level3Don'tMove, putting everything on effective lockdown, then start jumping with my lancers. Not to mention wiping out any enemies with holy or flare from time magic. Ah, I need to play the game again and finish Deep Dungeon.

I do think Nintendo has slipped some, but I can't say whether I think they're doomed untill the Revolution actually comes out. I really feel like Nintendo isn't changing with the times. Playstation and Xbox had a big advantage over the Gamecube because of how few games on Gamecube were actually online. They should try marketing to all ages, instead of mainly to kids. I categorize the Gamecube as marketing to kids, the Xbox as marketing to adults, and the Playstation as marketing to pretty much all ages. I say that if Nintendo dies, it's because of mistakes they made. Although personally I wouldn't mind if it came down to Playstation and Xbox, because Playstation has been my favorite ever since Sega went under, and I'd like to see them show Microsoft and their Xbox how it's done.

Wow. I never dreamed of such thought-provoking response. It's all true. I don't need to justify it. The justification is that I enjoy it. However, I do think an evaluation of how much I value games over other things is in order. I mean, there's a Bowflex downstairs that hasn't been touched in almost a year. >.> My thanks goes out to you all.

My history isn't too long, but goes back a long way. I first picked up the name Archbishop_Lazurus while playing diablo. One day while playing I ended up changing it to Laz_the_white, cause I joined the White clan (I never knew anyone except the fuy who invited me, Whitemare, cause I stopped playing shortly after). Laz_the_white stuck with me for many years afterwards, although I have had to put up with variations when it was taken. It was around the time I first got AIM (not too long ago, less than a year) that I got where I am now. Laz the white (and even some of my common variations) was taken, so I thought back to my FFXI main character Akaineko, which means "The Red Cat". I took red from that and now am just Lazthered. I do miss the spaces or underscores in between, though. I think Akaineko might have actually been taken on this site...

I haven't had anything too exciting happen to me, but I have seen the ghost at my friend's house. His mom has seen it, and so have I, but he denies it. He walked out of his room, and I followed a couple seconds behind. A little bit down the hall you can either turn left and go into the living room or turn right and go into the bathroom. As I walked out I saw him turn left and go into the living room. Then when I go into the living room, he's gone. He actually went into the bathroom.

I also was really sick the night my Grandfather died. Just got really sick in the middle of the night. I was probably an hour's drive away, staying at someone else's house.

Ghosts and stuff are as relaxing to me as they are creepy, in a way. I have come close to having a nervous breakdown sitting in my room thinking that there might not be anything after I die. I could be happy for the rest of my life knowing that there really was something such as an afterlife, but my mind is too logical to easily accept such an idea. I'm really working against myself, here.
