No, they are unnecessary. But seems that sex scenes are put just to entertain those poor husbands that are "forced" to watch bored movies with their wifes... now.. talking seriously.. I don't think that they are necessary.. in fact if you wanna watch some sex scenes you have porn movies. Anyway the entirely pattern of movies and series has changed in the past few years... new tv series and movies are just the same ×××× (murder, sex, sex, sex, sex, crappy humor)

My first anime was NGE.. I think that I'll never get tired of it, saw it like 20 times and I'm still enjoying the serie... also saw D&R and The end of evangelion like 10 times and I understand it at 100% >_>
