What's up smily face? I just finished my move, the apartment is still in boxes some what but we are just happy to be out of Denver. I'm even my job call back I was waiting for. Gonna make some extra cash on the side for Christmas!

Wow did members get abducted by aliens? Where did everybody go? I was only gone for like 2 weeks 3 tops so I could move....everybody disappeared...

Um wow.. not entirely sure what to say at first glance. It is very impressionistic and cubistic all in one?!?! The quality of the work is amazingly good. But it has a sense that you are stretching it, the pose is very un-natural and forced. As a martial artist & ex-gymnast I should know, I have some of the best pumsae on the west coast. This pose is just so painful to look at... it makes my joints hurt, not to mention my trick dislocating shoulder burn with pain. But even at that the lighting is really great... I know this is an understatement. The highlights and shadows are fluid and cares the character, unlike his stance. I might work on finding a better reference next time even if it's a paused screen shot. But all in all this deserves a fav. You did a great job keep up the awesome work!

Actually believe it or not I'm a dyed in the wool Photoshoper! I have to use it so much for work and school (when I was in school.. I'm taking time off 4 years off so far). I was rather surprised about the school thing cause I started out in Ai... they were very against it. My ranting aside I have not really got the hang of inkscape. Mostly cause I don't like to read the PDF instructions... it's a really long book. I'm impatient and like to jump right into things. But I have to say I am reaching the limitations of Photoshop.... not to mention I'm using CS3.

Yeah inkscape could really use the gradient-mesh.

Regarding the eyes... yeah meshing the eyes that would be interesting, but it is understandingly one of those things I too prefer to do by hand.

I must say this is superb! I have always loved Poco and this is just one of the many reasons.

Your technique is of the charts! And the tutorials you provided are amazing, well done and super informative. You might get me to vector with Ai yet.

I will be waiting on pins and needles in anticipation for the dress version! I think my favorite part aside from your wire frame construction is your shading and control of the color. Which makes you believe she's real... ^_^ Save for those adorable anime eyes... which the world would be better off with. Also, you have managed to, somehow, subtly accentuate the depth of field for this lovely character. Thank you so much! +FAV

Great job! Furthermore I applaud you on using Inkscape, though I find it less difficult than Ai it can be more challenging than Ps. Asuna is very smooth and well done. Good over all technique. I must make two suggestions...

1.) Most important, Please upload a version with a clear transparent BG... Cutting any character out is counter productive, well I might as well re-vector the character. Any questions about Inkscape, @moutonzare and @akiranyo the experts, as well as verious member of VetaDesu.

2.) I would like to see you extend the scan. There is extensive reference material on both minitokyo and AP. As it is only her coat tails it would have bee quite easy to do so. And in doing so would have increased the usability of the vector.

I hope this helps. No matter what this is still my favorite for the week. I hope to see you continue to vector you have great potential.

I have to say this is now one of my favorites. It's originality is evident right from the start. So seemingly perfect and yet from the provided progression chart a compilation of so many different things. This wall is so well worked out that you would never even have known without the chart. I would say more but I'm speechless. I highly recommend this one... +FAV

Hey I've been thinking about it and what if we adapted Monochrome to Color for Halloween! It's just around the corner and the time line for the contest is such that if it started soon that the voting would land right on top of Halloween...

Not to mention it looks like we've never done a HAllOWEEN based contest before, at least from what I can see. Plus it's a great way to boost creativity.

You would have to take a monochrome scan and adapt it for halloween. Just imagine elaborate costumes, dramatic colors, SPOOFS, and pushing the limit of our current abilities and imaginations.

It's just a thought, considering all the attire and candy is popping up everywhere!

Well you know the world is messed up when you turn off your DVR and you are horrified to find that PeWe Herman is playing in the background... and you desperately change the channel to the nearest better one in HBO section and it is some soft core movie called "Bikini Time Machine"!.... Sadly Yes the world is that bad end even though you finally find "Buffy The Vampire Slayer"(TV Series), and you really had to work to find it. The soft core movie was probably better than it... though you just can't leave it on the TV in the middle of the night. Who knows what the TV does when your not watching?

Hiding scared in my room.... anime is so much less disturbing

Yeah I have to say I'd let him conquer me any time! Talk about the sexiest bad-guy in the book! You did a great job. It fells some what nostalgic, and fresh at the same time. This is like an every girl dreams that her dream guy would show up like this sort of thing, hallucination!

It is simply divine. I must applaud you for you hard work. I do understand the issue with the gold and red cliche, but I think you can get away with it here. It's not how can I say this "It's not offensive!" in this instance it works and that is okay. And if you had used any more it would have been grotesque and just disgusting.... Not to mention you would have probably been chewed out by a thousand members.

I would like to put in my vote for Monochrome to Color, I'm interested to see how the rules around the subject would be presented..... Alternatively this gives the ability to have a secondary subject in side the Monochrome to Color that way more than one party could be satisfied with the subject matter, but that is just my opinion. I think you might get a more dramatic flair.

I really don't have much on the ranking system though I like the recommend, 5+4+3+2+1, a top 5,& 1 point to the participant. I think it will be easier to keep track of in the long run but I understand the difficulty to computing. If you need any help please let me know. I'm good with numbers and this sort of thing.

Makes a great title for this vector. You combined several styles in your vectoring I like that a lot. Plus I'm glad you did not take the short cut on this vector. There were a lot of ways to get this wrong and you managed to make it all the way past the finish line and up the mountain! Great Job. +fav

What a cutie! She really stands out here. This would have killed in Itadakimasu, but I digress. You have paid such attention to detail the rice by the way is magnificent. The addition of the keys as clips and hairpins is adorable. And your use of color real brings out her personality. The scan was rather , well at least a little sterile. Cute mind you, but lacking in any real emotional connection. Also I must commend you for using some awesome outlines. Each color just brings their image to life. I must +Fav this. Glad you're back really missed you mouto! HUGS This is a superbly beautiful vector. My only grips would have to be I wish you had extended the scan so the top of Ed's bangs and his head were complete. (only because I consider that to be a predictable value. but I am just nit picking)

The metal is so realistic and the cape is so 3 dimensional the combined quality is overwhelming.

@isshi : +2 : (Your vectoring is really is beautiful, clean and precise. Not only do you have mastery of color but you choose exciting & dynamic imagery. And that is just as important as the quality of the vector. You create an emotional connection with the viewer, through the image, heightened /complimentary colors, and the over all ultra high quality of the vector. You continue to amaze and mystify us each time. And each time I learn something new. )

@akiranyo : +1 : (Like I said those stripes must have been a pain! It's has a deep complexity even though it is a rather simple image. Though it may not be anything fancy it maintains a level of difficulty that is hard to match. And thus furthering my respect for you.)

@yamaro & @wonderngo : +1 :(I have to sayI'm torn between the two both excel in color and have a very delicate feeling about them. @wonderngo maintains mastery of color, and the delicacy of subject and sport. While @yamaro chooses a delicate character in a rough sport the clouds maintain their wispy quality and yet the intensity of the image is intact. So you see why I'm torn in two.)

Goog luck to you too. Its going to be an interesting contest... so much diversity! Although it will be interesting side race to see which one of the Eyeshield #21's will out too each other. Not to mention what type of sport will come out on top. Thought the characters may be interesting people tend to be swayed by particular types of activities onto of their artistic values.
