awh goobers! XD I totally spaced on that didn't i? i think i was concentrating so much on the left arm and working the ripples in that i let them just completely block out the right reflection. >.< muurgh. Gat, no i haven't yet...I'll probably be sending you a few questions soon if it's ok...*^_^*

And also for the background you should use a higher render option. Like super fine. I know it does take a long time, but right now it doesn't even look like it has been Antialised. Good job so far.

:) thanks for commenting! on the render that's something I've been having trouble with...I set it on the highest quality render, but i still get some of these little jaggies in the reflections and shining parts of the render...on here i tried to fix it with some photoshop tricks because i think the original Bryce file is inaccessable on a very dead comp at my apt. XD any ideas on what i could do in bryce for future tries? :)

hrmm...i see what you're saying. here's what i did...i originally didn't like how the new reflection was working out so i left a bit of the old one in as well...it's a room full of chrome-like mirrors anyway and the original render was done in a sphere so..XD anyway. :)

Besides the color, there is also a need to tie the forground (scan, reflection, text) to the background. The text appears to be on the surface which is casting the reflection of the scan, so you can build on that by generating a background with a reflecting surface at the same angle/perspective such that when you overlay the forground onto it and aligh correctly, this same surface will bind the foreground and background together. I'm not sure if I'm making sense to you, but yeah.

*nod* :3 yeah i noticed the text problem after messing with the overall color scheme...as for the reflections in the background, I already did that...i guess it's most noticable under the large donut on the right. I didn't want the reflection to be so overwhelming that it took from the character, so i faded it down...maybe too much? XD

Saa-chan, I made a thumbnail so the thread wouldn't be overwhelmed with the full sized version...it's close to 500K. just click on the thumb. :)

alrighty...altered the coloring a bit...am messing with the borders too. as for the ripples, they already were tweaked for perspective...the nearest ripple set is about twice the size of the farthest. :)

I've tested it in both IE, Firefox, and Nutscrape 8.2 on both the IE and Firefox render engines...same problem in each. hopefully Xeno will be able to get it fixed :neko:

In looking at the screen cap, your color window isn't up! that could be the culprit right there. :neko: either hit f6 or go to Window>Color to bring it up. select the fill box in that window and that should do it! :)

You're using the pen tool, right?(bezier curves) (looks like the nib of a calligraphy pen) have you closed your pathes? (when you trace around the outside and return to the starting point, a little circle will appear beside the pen tip, click and the path will be closed. With the path you want to fill selected go to the upper right hand corner. there will be two boxes there, one with an outline, and one completely filled. since it looks like you have both turned off, you should have a red slash through both. click the fill box (it will come to the front if the stroke fill is selected) and select the eye dropper tool and sample a color from your base image. that should fill the path that you drew...f it doesn't work, would you mind hitting "print screen" for me, and pasting it into photoshop + upload so i can see what's going on on the program? I might be able to help better that way. :neko:
