i think it depend on the artwork. if manga, of course the artwork is better than the anime. like rurouni kenshin, one piece, cardcaptor sakura, the anime is worse than the manga. i regret this because the artwork of CCS is soo good. but if it is inuyasha, the anime is better than the manga. The story of the manga ( i think !! ) makes me confuse..
