Reference as in you refer the stock photo to make your own drawing and so on. Maybe you would need some guidelines on how to make a scene so you would go for stock photo and refer to it.

First of all, Happy Valentines to you(though it was 2/3 days ago). Extracting scan is getting better and more better from what I see here. Nice place to put a shadown there and also you may want to let the petals to spread more randomly so that it looks not uniformly placed. Anyway, great job for this one!
