Having grown tired of wearing glasses, i went down to an optician to try out contacts. I ennded up ina room with a giant chart specifying the ghastly things that could happen to eyes due to carelessness with contacts, with full size pictures that scred the hell out of me. Knowing my carelessness, i decided to priortize safety over style and comfort, and ditched the contact lens idea.

SOmeone knows about new ipod's releases??
Apple's probably looking at a bluetooth ipod, but using a much more elegant implementation than microsoft's (that quite by steve wasent exactly one of his best...i expected a little more foresight for him, as i would truly appreciate such a feature)
However, if it does come out, it wont be soon. Remember, apple prides itself on minimalistic features and great design. There are plenty of great feature rich players out there (though i wont really recommend the zune, as MS is much more aggressive when it comes to drm than apple. Not only did they ditch the playsforsure format, a day might come when you have to 'activate' your zune whenever you load a song.)
It's yummily finished.
wa...wa....wa.....waooow..
you have some killer posters, all right. too bad i live in a hostel, or i would have decked out my room majorly.
(Plans to do it to his room at home....realises that mother would take them down super fast and convert it to a guest room till i come back...trashes the idea).
Y's Napishtim Decals
heh, its not that easy. though i have to say, to the guy that owns that car.....(or girl, but i am assuming guy, as i doubt a girl would have a car with ohla on it) ...whoever he is....
GOOD GOING!
What if life were more like anime :D
That's quite a list, dnwalker. Too good ^_^
Truly, if life were an anime, geeks like us would have a full busload of cute girls of every size, age, hair color and ethnicity falling heads over heels for us.
Then no one would get any actual work done.
Wait....am i for anime in real life...or against it....
Historical Anime and Nowadays Anime
Anime, by itself, is just a form of expression, and thsu stories set in any era can appeal to a person. I do not really have a preference for any era, to say the truth, unless and until the authors try to rely too much on knowledge of the era (which they assume the users have) to further the story. That is a common problem, unfortunately, but most fansubbers help out in this regard using notes to help guide us (KUDOS to them), and thus its not really a problem.
Honey and Clover: How do you think the series is going to end?
Indeed. At first, the series had this weird art style and a loli heroine, which put me off. However, a friedn of mine, Kaji, insisted that i persist with it. I am glad that i did, for it turned out to be one of the most heartwarming stories ever.
being a college student, i really identified with a lot of situations in the anime, and loved some of the dialogues that were spoken. The series was done excellently, and after ending each episode, i was filled with this...glow...
Truly an excellent series, and one of my all time favorites.
Anyone seen Saiunkoko Monogatari?
While an interesting series, i doubt it would catch the attention of many out there. Its kind of an anime that would appeal to certain people, while otehrs would dislike it.
You should post wallpapers of it, and make them attractive enough so that others try the anime out!
Should Suzumiya Haruhi Anime get a sequel?
ALL HAIL HARUHI!
Haruhi caught my imagination after the introduction in the second episode (i did not quite 'get' the first epi till quite some time later). That intro was so fresh and frank, and so similar to what i would have written, that i became a fan instantly. The anime (and teh novels, which i then grabbed translated and read) were quite something. It was quite probably the freshest anime i had seen in years, and the dance sequence in the ending rocked too.
Thank god theer is a second season.
ALL HAIL HARUHI!
Anime Figurines
While i do love them, and have a few, i stopped buying them after i found that they arent really the "in" thing with many girls (:ahem:)
Have your ever felt like not starting to watch an anime series??
Ah, plenty of times it has happened. Its just that sometimes, you get it, but you never get a chance, and you move on. Its a pity that it happens, and has happened quite a few times to me. Surprisingly, with some really nice anime too, like Full metal alchemist, kimi ga nozumu eien, getbackers etc etc.
As for ergo proxy, its an...interesting anime. It would appeal to thsoe who go for deep, hard to understand but potentially rewarding sci fi stories. Unfortunately, the script does take quite a few liberties, presenting the story in such an abstract, incomprehensible way that many who are attracted to it initially by the fantastic art style, would end up dropping it.
the childishness and drawing style on one piece really put me off, so i never touched it. I loved FMP though, particularly Fumoffu and the Second raid (which was brilliantly done).
What will you do to your anime collection if you have grown and become parents??
AH, what a question. Will children change me that much? perhaps, no its probably yes. That is because once you reach that pahase of your lives, it becomes kinda hard to keep tastes like these.
However, its not like I will completely abandon anime. Just that it would become few and far between. Unfortunately, unless you are a millionaire, you have far too less time to indulge in your hobbies too much.
How do you prefer to watch anime?
The best dubbing I have seen so far has been on Cowboy Bebop, probably the only anime which i actually preferred to watch dubbed rather than subbed. There are a couple of other decent examples as well, but since the market for anime in america is kinda small, and its generally marketed to the child community, the dubbing is mostly abysmal.
Elfen Lied...you hate it? you love it? why?
Elfen lied, is well.......kinda.....weird. It has some good art, but its too sick for words. I do not relish girls or children getting torn to bits, and the immense wanton violence that pervades the series. Realism has nothign to do with it, its just plain catering to those with sicker tastes.
A pity.........
Why VAlkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria was ranked so bad at GS??
The graphics of silmeria are good, and the story is decent. However, silmeria was much less fun to play than VP1. It lacked something that Vp1 had, just cant pinpoint what.
the new systems are nice, and the battle system ok, but a lot of the uniqueness of VP1 was taken out, making silmeria ratehr like the tons of cookie cutter rpg's out there. the story was decent, but the VP1 style of storytelling was completely abandoned for a much more generic story, which is unfortunately quite cheesy. That said, tri-ace arent really known for their stories.
Vp1 had an old school charm and an upbeat music. Vp2 is its sequel in many ways, but lacks the good, clean fun that vp1 had, and in place it has frustrating level up and crystal collection runs.
And I absolutely hated the photon system.
Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer?
indeed, its security itself which i like mozilla for. i cannot use any browser now without pop up blocking, in page ad blocking, script blocking etc. Its funny how many sites completely forget that to attract customers, you need to pay attantion to design, not bombard them with crap.
The only ads I do not block are google's, simply because they are so..well...out of the way and non irritating. I do not mind text ads at all.
Unfortunately, the first thing i experienced when becoming a beta tester for Windows live quite a long time ago, was that the ads in live covered nearly half the screen (and at once, not divided up). That irked me a lot. Thank god they reduced that!
BitTorrent - Why Use It?
it might help a little, but i would not really do that, as there are limited connections for security reasons. If you are gettign a slow speed, its probably because your firewall is blocking incoming connections or your isp is. Of course, that is assuming the torrent is healthy and has plenty of seeds.
Unfortunately, those new to bittorrent usually forget that last part. Many of my friends use to hate bittorrent, and complained that it never worked. i took a look and pointed out that dead torrents that cant even connect to a tracker arent likely to work.
NVidia and Windows problems
indeed, applocale helps a LOT for those pesky japanese games. it also pays to install the east asian language files to actually get the text as japanese instead of just gibberish (that of course would really help if you knoew some basic japanese and could read some simple phrases. Atleast learn to recognize hai and iie)
Cosplaying!
Ah, cosplay. very nice image. Both you and your bf look pretty good.
The link itself takes you to imageshack, though. Here's the image, for those too lazy to cut and paste.
Y's Napishtim Decals
oh, plenty of places, rave. I wish i lived in japan, there such things (might) actually be hip.
Unfortunately, the advent of stuff like pokemon did little to correct the "little children's cartoon" image of anime. That kinda sucks.
Oh, i wish i had the guts to pretty up my cars with my fav characters. Except i wont survive the social backlash.
:sigh:
Yu YU HAkusho!! (ghost files)
an, old, nice anime, though quite typical and cliche in every way. It was quite nice when it came, though.
I loved the manga the best. perhaps because the manga progression was much faster (glares at the biggest offender of them all, naruto).
Ouran High School Host Club
The anime is ratehr nice. Never tried the manga, but that was probably because of the overwhelming shoujo design cues that this manga adopts. of course, a quick anime perusal reveals it to be more comedy than shoujo, so its come in my "must read" list.
there are comparitively few manga with shoujo art styles that i like, among them Aishiterazu baby (too cute...) , PGE (dunno why i liked it), Fyuugi and now ouran.
Maybe i need to broaden my horizons a bit.
American Manga is it the real deal?
Technically, "manga" is generally the term given to japanese comics, so no, American manga isnt true "manga". That said, its still a subtype, and if it takes inspiration from japanese drawing cues and storylines (like say, megatokyo), its more or less manga.
In the end, however, the designation does not matter. A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet.

Saving…

My weirdest? Well, i was very young when i had it, but its still fresh in my mind. Our school used to have nine periods, and in my dream, i saw myself working diligently till the least period, when suddenly klaxons started ringing and i rushed out, and aided by a girl i didnt know, got onto a Cyclone to kick some invid ass.
I blame that on too much robotech.
The weird part? Well, the girl that aided me to get on my bike was someone i had never, ever, seen before. As it so happens, a week later, i was waiting for the school assembly to start. My school used to invite students from other schools for assembly prayer singing (less privileged schools). I was rather shocked to see the very same girl singing the prayer on the mike. One i could have sworn (and still can swear) i had never seen before.
