CloudGer's Journal

Life and so on

Greetings,

After over decade running AP we've made the tough decision to suspend normal operation of the site for the near future. Sadly there aren't enough hours in the day and it was time to make a decision on what to spend our efforts on. It's a pivotal time for our other project right now and we do not have the focus, manpower or system resources to run everything we have got right now.

We'd like to thank the community for their support over the past decade. It's been a pleasure.

Pro users may still log in below. We are no longer accepting new registrations.

Best,
AP Staff

Feel like writing something again, now that I'm not dead busy anymore. Moved out of home, to Berlin. It's pretty cool here, especially when you come from rural nowhere. Already made use of the possibilites here by going to a Nobuo Uematsu concert @ the Berlin Philharmonics, was pretty cool. I'm also gonna see some nice bands though.

I'm attending Berlin Institute of Technology now and it's really a pretty nice univ. We gotz a japanese wekk in the canteen some weeks ago woohoo, I tried many japanese meals I had never heard before, some were awesome, some.... eerrmm 'strange'.

Had a lot of problems finding an apartment, and also other typical real life stuff when one moves from home and starts univ and stuff, don't wan to guys bore you with that. Only important thing is that these obligations and problems kept me from vectoring... I could not finish my Vector for VD #8 and had to do a quick easier one 1 week before the deadline. That really sucked...

For VD9 I did this swordsman vector, which turned out pretty good. Some people said it was too blurry. I can understand that, but it's actually intentional. It's because wanted to emulate watercolor as good as possible. I find it a bit sad that such vectors are usually not so well recognized as detailed sharp ones, people easier see the details in sharp ones, and thus think they are more detailed although it's the other way around. I find the relation of time I put into these kind of vectors and the echo of the result not really satisfying. That's also why I want to do sharper evctors again. Also because my machine can't keep up with my technical vectoring. I tend to split SVGs and do every body part in an own, but when working on this vector, even that led to freeze and harsh lags. >_>Also I neglected university and stuff for it, such vectors are too time consuming... can't do that over and over again, and also I will NEVER finish a wall if I keep it this way.

Enough rant for today, cya at next contest.
