Yes this is an old problem that many wallers have been facing but it really is annoying when YOU yourself experience it.

Recently i was browsing for final fantasy soundtracks and stumbled upon this video. The pic used in it is definitely my wallpaper! Problem is, someone edited over it and also removed my signature!

Then again, i see my exact same wallpaper once again edited and sig removed by someone else on another site!

That's just a few of the wallpapers that i checked up on by entering relevant keywords on google. I have no idea how many of my other wallpapers have had the same fate.

It's just sad to see people steal it and make it their own. I've seen a lot of my wallpapers uploaded on other sites. But i didn't mind since they left my signature and have not edited my work in any way. But once you start editing on top of my wallpaper and also take off my signature, then i really can't tolerate that!

Sometimes i wonder whether these people know that they are in the wrong but do it anyway. Or just plain ignorant and don't know that they can't edit over someone else's wallpaper and claim it as their own. >_>

oooh, how I understand you. My wallie has even been sold Oo like a pillow.

Such people just know that everything in web is free and don't care about author's rights, efforts you put in your wall... They know that no one could blame them for that, since the wallpaper(s) was in free access.

The only exit to my opinion is to put your signatures somewhere o the chara; to scare rippers by license.

Tons of walls are being sold on ebay, like posters,though: http://forum.minitokyo.net/t71223the official thread. So check, if there're some your walls.

Yeah i've seen some wallers place their sigs like in the middle of their walls because of the theft prob. So maybe i will have to resort to that. But sometimes it is kinda difficult to blend it in nicely with the overall wallpaper design without making it look weird. :(

Yup i've been notified about that ebay seller. Seems like a lot of MT & AP ppl had their walls sold off there. Browsed through the account and i didn't find any of my stuff so far. But i'm guessing he won't last long anyway. People all over from AP, MT and even deviantART have been reporting this guy. So lets hope he closes down soon. ^^
