Wallpaper deletion policy
Typical reasons for deletion include, but are not limited too:
> The wall is not made by the person uploading it.
> The wall contains elements (such as a character or background) taken from other people's walls.
> Lack of proper credits for stocks/re-cg's/vectors/doujins/fanart.
> No signature.
> No/poor description, or description not in English.
> The wall shows little to no effort in assembly or contains escessive use of filters (as decided by Mods and Admin's).
> Very poor image quality (use "save for web" and set the quality bar to 70% for best results).
> Non-standard resolution, or resolution below 1024*768.
For rules on wallpapers and a guide to submission, read the wallpaper section of the guide.
Scan deletion policy
Typical reasons for deletion include, but are not limited too:
> The scan is too small. Scans must be at least 1200 pixels high.
> The character in the scan is too small. Character images must be at least 1175 pixels high.
> The character is covered by excessive text (at mod and admin discretion).
> The scan is taken from APA, ferricorp, or a similar permanent gallery with terms of use.
> It's a duplication of a scan already in the gallery.
For rules on scans and a guide to submission, read the scan section of the guide.
Deletion of copyrighted material
AnimePaper sits in a little niche.
On a purely technical legal front, every un-official wall ever produced or scan uploaded is infringing copyright law. However, we live in the real world and to be practical about this, the likes of adv, geneon and gainax have much bigger fish to fry. They're also unlikely to want to kill off what is an extremely effective form of free advertising.
Similarly, for anime and j-pop mp3s we're in a situation where the people who might actually want to strictly enforce the copyright are not bothered. Traditionally, the Japanese market is an insular one, and very little of their material is directly marketed or sold in western countries.
AP is therefore focused on these two areas very tightly and for good reason. As such you should not make available, or link to in any way anything that would contravene more strictly enforced copyright laws, such as those pertaining to fansubs or to western music or file sharing or p2p networks or anything like that.
What you do personally in terms of breaking the various local and international laws is up to you, but we don't want to see it here.
AP does provide a torrent linking service, but this is strictly limited to unlisenced series as defined by the standard fansub ethics (good article on the subject - http://www.animesuki.com/doc.php/licensed/ ).
Therefore, anything outside of wallpapers, scans and j-pop and anime mp3s anywhere on the site will be frowned upon very heavily, probably resulting in deletion.
Others deletions, including forums
Typical reasons for deletion include, but are not limited too:
> Spam. Spam is pointless, unwanted junk.
> Banal, un-interesting or stupid content.
> Trolling. Trolling is the posting of abusive, offensive or derogatory content.
> Foreign languages. AP is an english language site - don't post anywhere (with the exception of some groups) in foreign langauges.
> Banners, avatars, winamp skins and similar things do not count as artwork and will be deleted if posted anywhere other than specificially stated.
> A rule relating to maximum banner size, avatar size or sig length that has been broken (I.e. 3mb avatar) will result in it being deleted.
For more rules relating to the forums, read the forum section of the guide.
A final note
Anything may be deleted from any section of AP at any time at the discretion of the moderators and administrators.
The Administrators' word is final.
Repeat offenders will be banned from AnimePaper.net.
Argueing will also result in either a ban from AP or the suspension of certain priveliges.
And finally finally
Don't whine. Nobody likes a whiner and the thing least likely to get your work on AP is whining.
If your stuff got deleted, suck it down and think about why it was deleted. Read the guide and don't do it again.
