1. How do I get papers?
You get papers by contributing to the site.
This can be done by:
> Posting in the forums.
> Commenting on wallpapers.
> Submitting wallpapers.
> Submitting scans.
Alternatively, you can gain paper by donating to the site (see the "DonateToUs" button, top right).
More details can be found in the paper guide section of the guide.
2. Why can't I download walls?
You have almost certainly reached one of the limits.
Users are only permitted to download 15 walls in any 24-hour period.
Alternatively, if you have not made any contributions to the site ( listed here) your ability to full view walls may have been temporarily suspended. Please join in with the community - this will result in it being restored after a short time.
More details can be found by reading the wallpapers section of the guide.
3. Why did I get a banned message when I haven't been?
Because AP uses IP bans. This means that, occasionally, people with floating IP addresses will happen across one that's banned.
This can often simply be solved by rebooting your modem/router or PC, as this will generate a new IP address.
4. Why was my wallpaper/scan deleted?
Because it did not meet the rules as described in the guide.
You should read the appropriate section of the guide to find out more details - wallpapers or scans.
5. Why do I have negative papers?
You have been fined.
The reason for this could be anything, but most fines occur in relation to wallpaper and scan deletions. You should check your PMs where you will have received a PM informing you why your wall/scan was rejected. The fine in this case represents a punishment for failing to read and obey the rules in the guide.
For wallpapers read this and for scans read this
If you have not submitted any walls or scans then you may have been fined for other bad behaviour. This could include spamming, trolling or otherwise making a nuisance of yourself. Again, please read the appropriate sections of the guide such as those on forums and paper.
6. I submitted a wall/scan - why can't I see it?
Because it is in the approval queue.
All walls and scans pass through an approval process, where they are checked against the rules. Please read the appropriate section of the guide, wallpapers or scans, to find out what these rules are.
7. I uploaded my avatar/sig, but it won't show up!
The problem is simply that your cache has not refreshed.
Press ctrl and F5 together - this will force your browser to reload the page, displaying your avatar/sig. Alternatively, wait until you next log on to AP, when your cache should refresh automatically.
8. How do I start making wallpapers?
You can start by getting yourself an image-editing program. Many people use Photoshop, but the shareware program GIMP is also very popular and powerful, as is paint-shop pro.
From there we generally recommend two things. Firstly, read, try and practice tutorials, which can be found by searching the web, or looking in session zero or the design depot group.
Second, we recommend using session zero to help you improve your skills. There you can get advice, crit and feedback to help you improve your walls and you also don't have to worry about fines.
There are other groups that may be of use too, such as photoshope lovers and the resource pool.
9. How do I upload?
You upload by pressing the "submit" button at the top of the page and following the instructions provided.
Please do read the scan and wallpaper guides for upload requirements.
10. Can you delete my account?
No.
Why not? Because we know the only reason people request this is because they've reached the leecher limit. If you want to download more walls, please join in with the community.
