v6 Suggestions
Revenue from ads alone would not cover the bandwidth costs incurred by users with unlimitted access. The contribution system is in place to ensure longevity of the site. If you dislike it, there is nothing preventing you from leaving. The system works and will not be changed.
Further to this, we have transparency in that this is explained in detail in the FAQ. All users are directed to this document during registration and all pages have a direct link to it.

The site seems great, but the "contribution limit" is pretty lame. The message should actually read, "AnimePaper is a community built around forced contributions." As a first time visitor, this "limit" makes me concerned about what other parts of my experiences here would be dictated by the webmaster(s) if I chose to become more involved.

i would tell you to go to hell, but i tell you instead, wallers spend more than hours, than weeks, some than months to make one wallpaper.
is really that hard to post one comment and/or not give a fav when you download that wall?! that can be made on seconds
wallers appreciate

As someone who has a hobby in photography, I spend a lot of time with post processing in photoshop and can imagine the work it takes to make a wallpaper. I also understand the importance of leaving comments on somebody's work as it helps the artist to learn, grow, and evolve. That's why I am taking the time to post comments on this forum - believe it or not, trolling is not my intention.
That being said, it's unrealistic to expect everybody to leave a comment and usually only a handful of posted comments are actually useful and constructive in the first place.
Back to the issue of "contribution limits," isn't such a practice even hurting the artists on this site? Who spends the aforementioned weeks or months creating a wallpaper and thinks, "I hope only a limited number of people can see my work!"? It just doesn't happen. If I were going to spend the hours to create and post something for a site I would want a large audience to be able to view it and not have the number of views/downloads be restricted.
Sure, bandwidth costs a lot of money. That's understandable, but is there really no other way? Not to say there may not be others, but this is certainly the first site I have seen that uses this method of bandwidth control and actively tries to reduce web traffic.

I will never understand why some users think contributing to this site is such a hard thing.
The paper system is here since a very long time and everyone has to bear with it.
What's so wrong in giving restrictions to the users to take this site alive?
I see it like hatesyou already pointed it:
Overall it works and it will not be changed just because you think it doesn't work.
Take free to leave if you don't like it.
And this is not the place to discuss about that.
Just as a little site note:
Posting comments on walls is not the only way to contribute to this site.
You would know if you had read the Guide carefully.

You appear to be new to the internets. Do us a favour and go and build a site implimenting your ideas, get a few thousand visitors at any given time and prove that it works.

Yeah and when you get the $ bill dont scream!.Its in this site to maintain order, bandwidth control and leeching. If there wasnt a contribution limit people would have just come in like a gang and in mass quanity download all the stuff they can and in this way the bandwidth would have costed like hell.So for some time use your common sense and ask question!!
An excellent example of this is MiniTokyo, which is less strict about download limit and lags considerably.
I guess this is the right place for feature suggestions?
I'm thinking of a wallpaper rating filter. Sometimes, there are just too much items in a category (e.g. Bleach) and it's quite hard to search manually through all the pages looking for the really good ones.

yea, that would be nice because the one that exist include all walls on AP
http://www.animepaper.net/gallery/wallpapers/popular/
but then, the developers kept all new stuff as "surprise" so no idea if it will be on v6 or not

I would have to say, while the wallpapers coming in are fantastic, I would like some smaller resolution, but high quality wallpaper. Things you can easily stick on a Microsoft Zune, Palm Pilot or cell phone. Along with these, a small avatar and signature section couldn't hurt. Also, a fresh new color scheme for the overall site is refreshing from time to time. But hey, the current scheme is nice too.

@Umbrellacorp26; If you read the previous posts made numerous times earlier, you'd know what our stand are regarding the image size request which you have put forth.
I don't know if it has been already mentioned ... ignore this if it already has been, but I think a paper donating feature between members would be nice.
Um, is there a list of suggestions that've been taken into consideration or rejected somewhere we can refer to?
