Shoujo-ai/Shonen-ai?
Lately, I've been noticing quite a few animes out there that include or feature shoujo-ai and shonen-ai couples. What do you you guys think about it? I personally dislike both of them a lot - no matter how good the anime is supposed to be, if it contains one of those two (or both), then there's no way that I'm watching them. Just a thought.
I really don't like the shoujo ai/shounen ai genre... I guess I'm old fashioned, but I like to watch stories about boys falling in love with girls and vice versa. I don't know, I guess I find the shoujo/shounen ai often overdone, and with the shounen ai they draw the boys so girly anyway. It's a bit silly.
I have no problem watching shoujo-ai genres, but shounen-ai...i stay away from as far as possible. for shoujo-ai, there are some really good exceptions out there, well in my case i've only seen 1 shoujo-ai series that doesn't go over the line, and was still enjoyable *looks at avatar :D*.

I don't mind watching Shoujo-ai genre type series, well i am a male afterall :p and well i'm not one for watching shonen-ai for that fact. I'm sure the girls are the same but vice versa

I have no problem watching shonen ai . In fact I am a fan. I love shows like Gravitation and Yami No Matsuei. But I dont mind shojou ai either although I dont go out of my way to watch it.
Me too, especially Yaoi stuff > < but I didnt dislike them that much...for me, I prefer shounen-ai cus I'm a girl and it's abit wierd reading or watching girls kissing...

Every second school life anime i get is full of it =p I can watch it if the story line catches my attention.
...........WHY NOT? For me, I get the same feeling if I see a guy and a girl kissing, two guys or to girls, it's the same, it's...kissing, it's a love sign between two human beings, why sould I find it disgusting?
There are less gay/bisexual people than heterosexual ones, but they exist, so if you find a gay couple, don't be surprised and accept it.
I'm not saying that every anime should be shounen-ai or shoujo-ai based, but if it is...it's the same as an heterosexual one.

And I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad, The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had.
Well, I for one am a big Yuri fan. Yaoi, on the other hand, is obviously not my style, but I don't have any moral objection to it, and I'll even read it if the plot is really good. Frankly, I'd rather see more Yuri than straight angled stories, but that's probably just me. *wink*
I'm a girl and I don't mind either, their are Shoujo-ai and Shounen-a stories out there with a good story. If you like romance it really can't be helped.
I don't mind watching shounen-ai, what can I say I think some of them are cute such as Loveless. However shoujo-ai is another story. Seeing two females kiss and fall in love does not interest me what soever. I'm a girl after all. So I have never and never will watch shoujo-ai

Males = I like shoujo ai but i HATE shounen ai
Females = I like shounen ai but i HATE shoujo ai
That would be the "USUAL" but NOT ALWAYS
like my older sister, she doesnt really like any of the 2 cuz she is quite practical, as for my younger sister, she just absolutely adores shounen ai like ice cream. You should see her manga collection of GAAYYY MEN...AARRGHHH
As for me...MUHAHA SHOUJO AI of course...theyre just good, well some...I really really really like Kannazuki no Miko since it is one of the most romantic, good plot, drawing and not so cheesy with a bit of action shoujo ai series. To be honest, this new shoujo ai series, Strawberry Panic, i just cant stand watching it no matter how i really like girls kissing each other. Dunno why but maybe cuz its just really cheesy and such that i nearly puke.
So also...if guys say they like shounen ai...well i'll be damned they must be fags...if not...........no they must be gay cuz no matter how i look at it...its impossible from a "straight" man's point of view

Ehm... sometimes i think it's weird both of shoujo ai/shonen ai... but, yeah... don't mind it if the story line is great.. i don't mind that... he3^^, but it's better if nothing like that....
I don't mind them at all...aka i am a fan of both shoujo ai an shonen ai. To me having it is just normal. >.> If thats normal to me then does that make me abnormal?
I don't mind shoujo-ai, but shounen-ai is more preferable. ^^ I'm sort of a big fan on yaoi fanfiction. XD But yeah, what matters the most is the plot and the art; that's what catches me in the first place.
On the side note, shounen-ai should really be known as BL (Boy's Love or Boys' Love) as that is the more commonly used term in Japan, but I prefer the former term. heh heh. I don't know about shoujo-ai though.
