This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Misunderstanding is the root of prejudice.. more like make him do walls and see if he can even have one accepted here..

Most pointless argument. My coworker thinks that these walls and VECTORING is just easy and takes no talent... -_-

Um so you are not in your country?

~Isolde 1 hour 52 minutes ago

Don't know if I have the talent to draw....

I haven't been drawing long and I started darwing when I was bored in the house. So I figure, why not. I took a couple pieces of paper and I drew a Green Dragon for Dungeons & Dragons. Later I didn't pick up the pencil again when I tried to copy a dragon from Dragon Drive DVD pencil board that came in with the DVD and again when I saw a graphic novel with this character that I thought I can draw freehand, but with a pick as the refernce to see if I can draw good. I don't know about my abilities so I want to know what you people think?

These picks I quite large to see since I can't scale them down to size. (To lazy to)
These are from pictures that I saw and desided to copy them to see if I can draw or not.

I don't really like it when people say I'm "talented" at drawing because that I think implies that I was born with the ability. But I started out drawing like everyone else, I just had a lot of passion for it and kept trying to get better (for a long time) so I prefer to use the word "skilled". But in your case, if you haven't been drawing long, I'd say that you are pretty good! Maybe you're talented! Lol... I like the dragon, and the guy looks pretty good too, although his neck is kinda in a wierd shape. You should keep drawing and use a sharper pencil, lol!

Yeah the 1st pic is nice. ^^
but i think the lil problem is from the neck.
it's a lil too long...
bout the shading and all... it's great.
and yeah the dragon... very complex and well done.
good job! keep up the good work there!

I agree with Luna. You don't have to be talented to draw.( Actually I'm not talented at walls) You just need to be confident and passionate.
The boy's neck. It's a bit long, and the folds of his shirt.(But don't worry, I'm not so good at cloth folds either...annoying~)
The dragon's coool!

They all said it. But one thing cannot be ignored. Yes there are talented people out there born with the sense and ability to draw or paint, however their direction as artist is also affected by such talents so call it some kind of balance because more often than not these talented people are less flexible than those that acquired the skill to draw and paint or sculpt. Take note of the "more often than not" portion because there are exceptions aswell since there are talented flexible people but again because they are like that you may find another aspect of them a bit lacking... usually their mental health or ideologies. Don't worry too much about it because whether you are talented or not you can still draw given you have the patience and will for it. Heres one way to usually tell if one is talented. Talented artists usually don't draw cartoons, they more often draw what they see or what they feel and it is expressed usually in their own terms and often in their own style. Much of the talented original Anime Artists are now really not easy to come by nowadays since much of the Anime and Mangas we see today are based on how these pre-commercial mangas were created, more often than not ehy are not even teh head of any anime firms and such. So you define for yourself whether you are talented or not then set it aside and start drawing. Talent or not the true road to any artistic achievement is in your passion to do it.

As for your drawings I'd say they're pretty good considering you don't pick up the pencil often not to mention your shading, you don't see that often from people who start.

Yes. You are doing pretty well if these are basically your first real attempts at drawing. If you are seriously considering drawing and want critique, try deviantART. I pretty much live there and can attest that it can be a helpful place (most of the time). At the very least, I would encourage you to keep drawing. That is the only way you know you will get better. ^_^

I don't get it... is this suppose to be like noob drawings... cause they're pretty damn good... even i havn't finish experimenting with foldings and shadowings yet...

so yeh... they're good, keep up with the training, learn all the "hows" and "whys", then you can totally freehand and make people happy with your art :D

If you say you are a beginner that art is really good! I suggest you use a thinner pencil though because its laid on their kind of thick xD

The first image [the one of the guy] looks cool and all but his neck looks too long and that kink on the left hand side shouldn't be there.
And that dragon thing just looks awesome. Have no clue where it comes from but it's awesome.

The first drawing is Kaworu from Evangelion...or atleast that's what he looks like.

Very nice job. Keep working at it I'd say.

As for me I really can't draw...there are some times where I can make something resembling a circle but I'm not consistent. It's sort of heartaching since I have such an imagination and can't translate that onto paper.

There is natural ability and acquired ones. Some people are just born with a gift while others have to strive to perfect that skill.

Whether you have either makes no difference as long as you love what you do like what Tertius said.
