This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Ok, I'm all for watching subbed anime but it really irks me when the subs are riddled with spelling and grammatical errors. Maybe I'm nitpicking but if you're taking it upon yourself to sub someone else's work then the least you could do is ensure the english words are spelt correctly. It's like using bad english voice actors for the series. Don't get me wrong I'm eternally grateful to those guys out there that sub for free, you're my heroes but is it too much to ask for you to double check your work? I don't know I just figured that subgroups would take pride in their work and strive to do a good job. Don't be in such a rush to release an episode that has subs full of errors. Code Gaess for instance is unfortunately a victim of this. Thank God other subgroups picked up this and did a good job. Well this is just my thoughts on this. Have you guys encountered subs that were really bad?P(>_<) emoticon

I can't stand screwed up subs either. On Youtube, Love Hina subtitles are always missing small parts, and it really bothers me because I don't know what they are saying.

When i used to watch sub from Hong Kong, those were bad. But when I watch animes from subbers, they don't do that bad job. Please understand that even though many American who speak English every single day still miss grammar and spelling on their writing or speaking. They are just normal folks. YOu can't ask them to be the perfect human or the English Teacher to sub your animes.
I just think that many people just ask too much. You want fast, correct, and free service. You can't ask for all of them. As long as I understand what the anime is about. I am fine with that.

While personally I use the subtitles mostly as guidelines while I try to listen what is said in Japanese, I am the kind of person who is easily annoyed by spelling and grammatical errors – especially sloppy ones. I certainly support the notion that fansubbers can benefit from at least running their subtitles through a spell checker before putting them up.

Well from where I am, I bought a cheap DVD copy of Black Lagoon. There were english subtitles which was good, but there are also times that the english grammars were screwed up and also the translation like for example: Instead of Hotel Moscow, in the subtitles, Hotel Mexico. Or Benny and in the subs, Billy. O_o
And also instead of Garcia, it was Gersher.

I find it annoying if there are parts missing because the subs are broken or something.
I don't care if there are some grammar or spelling mistakes, if they don't appear every third line. I'm just a little disturbed when people that aren't native speakers use phrases they read in a fansub^^" I always have to watch out not to let that happen to me or confirm it's right the way it was spelled or expressed etc. in the sub.

I understand that perfectly and I'm not expecting them to be perfect. I can live with a few errors here and there, however there's a difference between a few errors that the subber missed and just a rushed job where it is obvious they didn't even bother to check their work.

Yeah I've encountered a few anime with bad subtitling (as in a grammatical error here or there, or that the subtitles sometimes clash) but it isn't much for me to complain really. These subbers do the best they can (well I believe) and I'm really grateful for their work, if not, I wouldn't have been able to watch all the anime and enjoy them as I have so far.

Sometimes it bothers me when the subs are all messed up, but I have really bad spelling anyway so sometime's I'm like "Well at least this is subbed in some way!" Rather than listening to the dubbed version. It suffices.

Yeah, sometimes fansubbers misspell words or royally screw up English grammar, but so do most other native speakers. Really, though, some subs that I've run across are so horrible that I'd just rather them not do anything at all. I don't mind one or two spelling errors, especially the common ones, within a show, but if it ever gets to the level of five or six errors appearing in one episode, then you have a problem that I just despise. I know simple errors are hard to spot sometimes (i.e. "your" and "you're"), but if your QC misses so many errors at one time, either get a new one or start learning how to use spell check.

The small errors are really not all that bad, even in official works (I've seen misspellings in the Boogiepop novels), as long as they do not proliferate beyond being small.

Well, I haven't noticed subs screwed up or something like that, it can be because I mostly see Anime subbed in Spanish xD (I'm a mexican), but lately with the new series I've been watching a lot of Anime subbed in english, but the subtitles are ok. =P

If I May...

I Am All For Bettering Ourselves As Artist And The Fact Of The Matter Is That As Most If Not All Of Us Are Into The Japanese Lifestyle Then We Should Try To Learn A Bit More General Japanese. However That Is Only My Way Of Thinking

...That Is All.

Hahaha... i understand what you're trying to say and I guess it does bother me when subtitles are misspelled or have bad grammar usage but I mean its not like I'm perfect about that kind of stuff either and its exciting to know that I understand what the people are saying in Japanese so it's all goood XD
