Light pwns.
He's more of a cold-hearted killer, while Lelouch still has a soft side (well, sorta).
Although I agree that neither would be so stupid as to reveal himself.

You kno honestly im glad that someone shared the opinion on how these two characters seem almost alike. For example they say they're trying to create a better world although thier means to do so aren't always the right ones. I wouldn't exactly say they are bad people, its just there methods are sometimes bad. Like said many a times the end dose not justify the means. I do like how compared to some other animes the main characters are really smart, unlike lets say Naruto *cough*cough* I like Lelouche better than Yagami Light though =/

Light is definitely way cooler than Lelouche. lelouche is such a poser with those all those lame looks and over-the-top hand movements and that ugly helmet >_<
As for fighting who cares... Obviously the playing field isnt really level if you just throw both of them into a ring.

Quite frankly, I do not believe Lelouch is a bad guy.. He's just all about revenge, which just makes him a tragic character. Light, on the other hand, by the end of the series had basically gone mad...
What exactly do you mean by versus? Versus could mean who would win in a battle or who we like better.
The Violent Definition: It's obviously hard to say that the character that you prefer will lose. But saying someone will lose just because you think they suck doesn't really mean anything.
Anyway, like others before me have stated, it all depends on the conditions. If they're randomly thrown into a ring without being given any sort of information about the other and both firmly believe the other must die for their individual causes, it's very likely Lelouch will be the last one standing. Lelouch may not know what Light can do but it's not very hard to just use geass and tell him to kill himself [or at least something that would give him the upperhand]. Light won't know about geass so he won't know how to counter it. And not wanting to waste his half of his lifetime away, he won't trade for the shinigami eyes. Thus, he will try to talk Lelouch into giving his identity away. That will clearly take too long. Even if Lelouch doesn't decide to use geass immediately, and tell Light his name, he'll most likely reveal his current commoner name, not his previous prince-ly name [which would be his real name]. When the Death Note doesn't work, Lelouch would have figured out what Light can do and send him to his death. :}
This is just one situation though.

Besides, Lelouch is fighting for a better world for his sister, if not his people [other than his own personal vengence]. Light is fighting for what he thinks would be a better world, which is really starting to look more and more like playing God. I personally think he's on a power trip.

Lelouch is better at hiding his identity than light. i can see it now, light frantically writing "Lelouch Lamperouge" and wondering why he won't die, as knightmares drive in and kick the crap out of him.

I dunno, it would be a pretty even match, although Light could win cause he doesnt care who gets killed in order to get what he wants, and on the other hand lelouch cares somewhat about other ppl, like his sister.

Well ... they're not really alike. Since Lelouch has a childhood of dark issues regarding his former royal life and Light actually comes from a well-to-do family. Lelouch has a solid reason for doing the things he does, while Light has more of a belief. They may be similar in intelligence and the way they both take action to achieve their goals, but they're still different in another way.

I was quite surprised this kind of thread came out. But when I think about it, Light and Lelouch do share a little similarity. Light wants "all criminals" to die and create a new world where everyone can live in peace; Lelouch (I don't know if my observation is correct. I've only seen CG until episode 20) on the other hand, wants to overthrow Brittania.
The Code Geass fans would rather say "Lelouch wins" and the other "Light wins", either way it would be a never ending story. For me, both are smart: they think first before taking action and I don't think either of them will act recklessly.
