Well i actually use bittorrent but i believe they are all virtually the same usually if something is of that size it usually takes a couple of days if your lucky and there are a lot of seeders but if there isnt it usually can take longer and usually you might give up.What series is it may be able to give you a link
I doubt it has anything to do with the torrent client, more to do with the quality/quantity of the seeds.
True, the amount of seeders(sources which have the completed torrent and are sharing it) defines your speed. Also, the amount of seeders may vary depending on the time of the day. for me, downloading during the night is often a lot faster.
and remember to seed after you've finished downloading, it helps other who have the same problem as you do now;)

Depends on how popular the series is as that'll effect the amount of seeds available. The less common might take a few days, but the new releases may be done overnight. It also depends on your connection speed, but you probably knew that.
Well for me it takes about 5-9 days for me depending on the no. of seeders and my lousy internet's connectivity. If you have a good, hi-speed connection it should get over in even lesser time.
It all depends on the upload speed and amount of seeders. I usually download anime series with approx. 40-50KB/s.

On top of the other things the above posters have said does your current torrent client have protocal encryption, do you know if your internet provider throttles peer to peer applications.
As well utorrent is very light on system resources.
As well if you want to download large files like that more quickly you'll want to set up your computer and network(assuming you use a router) for bitorrent or things of the peer sorts.

How slow are you talking about? If it's something like 6kb/s you might be behind a firewall/router. If that is true, you'll need to foward the ports that you use for BT.

The speed also depends on your setting too. I use bitcomet and the original setting for it only allow I think 40 to 50 peers connected, which isn't that many unless they have really good connection. I changed my setting to allow more peers to connect and there's a big difference, especially when there's not many peers. So you just have to google to find a good setting for Utorrent.

Go to the utorrent forums, they'll give you some tips that might help you increase your speed. I

To summarize, it's not the program that matters, there's a number of factors that can affect download speed:
- the upload speed of the seeders.
Few seeders does not allways mean low speeds if those seeders have high upload speeds.
- your download speed.
Obviously, you can't go any faster then your connection will allow you to.
- your upload speed.
You'll want to set a maximum on your upload, a little under your maximum upload speed, since if you take the max upload, you're using too much bandwidth. You dont want to have this too low though, since you sometimes get lower speeds if you're not uploading yourself aswell.
- your number of connections.
Your internet connection will only allow you a set number of "connections" simultaniously. It takes a bit of research to find out what to use, but basically, if you let your internet-using programs use too many connections at the same time, you wont be able to fully utilize your speeds.
- any possible firewall or router.
In the ideal case, you want a router that has UPNP, also called "dynamic port mapping" and want it switched on in your torrent client aswell. This way, you don't have to open up any ports permanently, but the torrent program and the router will open them as needed. This is safer then having them allways open. As for a firewall, every firewall is different, some need a bit of tweaking to get the most out of your connection, others work fine out of the box. Do some googling about it.
Hope that helps you.

I hate torrent >.>
I run a 10mbit connection and unless I download Bleach or Death-Note upon release date, my download speed will never go above 250kb/s. Hence why I stopped using BitTorrent and went primium with Anime-Eden. I can download an entire series in an hour (600~800kb/s download rate with them). Dont need to upload, and dont need to wait 2 days <.<

I think that the people above pretty much explained everything you need to know about downloading with utorrent.. I just wanna say that utorrent for me is the best bittorrent client and since you are member of a nice anime tracker you wont have too much problem downloading animes.. its better then downloading from a public tracker because people can help you with your problems and stuff. To download a 3-6Gb anime it depends first on how much seeds and leechers have in the torrent you are downloading, more seeds means you can download faster, then its all about how fast you can download, no need to say that a 1mbit connection at least helps a lot.
Well heres something funny for you to dwell on. One of my friends downloaded the Xmen series (5 seasons) in 15 weeks (from 7pm till 7am) on a 56k modem using bittorrent.
