External HD arent the devil ppl. Ive used one for months now and am fine!! On the list of problems people had, usb problems was only 8% Your more than likely to have a power surge or virus destroy your Motheboard!! Some of us have tons of valueable data and dont want to risk losing it!! Do you think HD's would sell as good as they do if they caused all these problems??...No!!Firefly3D maybe your fuses are bad!! The artical said bad fuse was the main problem that cause motherboard damare from usb drives!!
No offense or anything, but that article is one of the biggest piles of tripe I've ever seen.

Even so, I prefer the good ol' method of PC murder: virus, trojan, hack; or, <drum roll> being beaten down to a pulp with a bat then thrown out the window unto a busy street. ^^

Might be someting else going on!!! I had windows crash when I wasnt doing anything but just looking at my files. Just a bug in microsoft windows Xp. That might be it?? I use to get that "windows need to close" all the time.
In regards to computer problems, as the old saying goes.... 1. If you can't fix the problem, get a bigger hammer.2. There is no (computer) problem that can't be solved with the proper application of plastic explosives. <!--emo&--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='ph34r.gif' /><!--endemo--> Actually, I've never had a computer die on me, though I've had a couple of HDD's go bad on me (one just recently which is why I haven't answered mp3 requests around here lately). I remember when I had been in school, having a school PC doing the Power Source spark and fire spitting act. The prof. looked at me like 'what the hell are you doing?' when I ran for an extinguisher but he figured it out once he saw the flames coming from the PC box. As far as the article goes, it is accurate in the problems listed butREALLY overstated in how likely any of them are to happen.
Maybe it's just to give new users a clearer idea. Although, I did liked all the weird stories of what happened. Heh, still remember the CS rocket launcher one... XD
My my... feel like affreaid now to change anythin in my computer.. hmm wll i dunn really works anyway ^^
I used to blow my computer 6-7 yaers ago and that cost a lot of money to fix...but it wasn't work...so I had to bought a new one T_T
