As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

I'm sorry, but I have to ask for help.

I have a Dell Inspiron 5150 laptop, and it's apparently broken. Every time I turn it on, a little underscore shows on the top right corner. This has been going on for weeks.

Mwah, how did this happen? Sometimes I get a message about new programs or hardware installed, but I didn't do any of that stuff.

Please someone help me, or at least suggest a new laptop to buy. I would prefere a good value, if possible, because I have to pay for it myself, and all I can do during school is babysit, plus I have a trip to pay for as well.

Also, I am very interested in any one elses previous or current computer problems...to make me feel better.

Of course, I would prefere to keep my old one...I have like 700 mp3's and many WIP's.

Have a nice day! (I know I'm not)

Why don't you just take it to the store where you bought it and have them fix it for ya? Why buy a brand new one?

My DVD burner won't read or burn any CD's so I can't burn ep's I had downloaded and delete them. I gotta take I to the computer lab this weekâ?¦

Sorry, I wish I could tell you these things but my friend was on it before it happened...like 2 weeks ago. Then it just froze up. The mouse stayed in the middle of the screen, and the music stopped playing.

she was looking for pictures of 60's clothing, and listening to some music, with winamp. I had photoshop opened too.

The last thing I installed was a free trial of illustrator.

The last thing I downloaded was an mp3...

Have a nice day!

A virus has infected your boot system, better figure a way out to back up your files before all is lost.

Have you tried starting it up in safe mode? Basically either you can get it to start in safe mode or you can't. If you can get it start in safe mode burn everything and reformat your comp. If you can't, it's pretty much computer over and all you can really do is reformat it.

If I'm reading this correctly, your computer isn't booting. When you turn it on, the only thing that happens is you have a little slash in the corner. Well, if that's the case...I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is, all your files and programs are safe as your hard drive should be fine. The bad news is, your motherboard, ram, or power supply has bit the dust. I doubt it's the power supply because you usually get through bios, but not through windows boot if your power supply is having issues. So, the way I see it, you have three options: 1) Take your computer in, back up your hard drive files, and see if they can repair bios (if that's what's broken) 2) Try replacing your RAM. If your ram is bad, your computer won't boot (and it can randomly get fried over nothing that you do wrong) 3) Buy a new laptop.

Try #3 first as it's the cheapest, or heck take it in and ask them to do it. They should be able to test ram. But like I said, your life is not lost and all your data should still be intact. I seriously doubt a virus did this.

In the worst case... you might have to format your harddisk.
But you can back your file before by remove your harddisk and connect it to another computer.
You should not do it by yourself
Take your labtop to the expert and ask him for help before doing anything
...because you might have to buy a new one like me oooo ><

You sir, are knowledgable.

In order to back up your files, they will have to take out your hard drive and hook it up to this thing and just transfer it all to another HD. Make sure they don't charge you too much.

Or just hook your HD to a friend's comp and transfer it to his PC's HD.

I wouldn't actually recommend this if you don't really know what you're doing unless you have a friends who knows what he's doing. I've destroyed multiply computers doing things like this and I was relatively sure I knew what I was doing ^^;;; ah...twas all false teenage bravado I'm afraid. T_T

I seriously doubt a virus did this.

Wah. You are awesome. It's awesome to find someone who doesn't think a virus is the only thing that can make your comp malfunction. Although I personally didn't get that her computer wouldn't boot because she says that programs/hardware are being installed on her HD that she didn't do.

NOOB :P ;)

Buy a 2.5" usb drivecase and plug it in a pc that has a AV installed
copy the files and use the DELL Restore CD's to reinstall your laptop... .

Yor motherboard could have failed, it seems that some Dell 5150's have developed motherboard faults. Which seem to sometimes show as a flashing underscore.

Then again this persons problems seem similar to yours. Their problem seems hard drive related, but also with a motherboard problem.

You should do a serch or the Dell forum, thats where I got the information.

You should probably send your laptop back to Dell to get it fixed, though if it's out of warranty it could be expensive.

You can't do this because a laptop's HD doesn't fit the ID cables of a regular PC. You need an adapter.
