Cosplay
At first i would like to cos-play as inuyasha in the anime "Inuyasha".However later due to height difference i gave up the idea on cos playing as inuyasha...Later i came across Shaman King and i felt like cos playing as Asakura Yoh...although the height matches but i didn't complete the costume...i still lack the sword and neckless...i would also like to cos play as Hitsugaya Toushiro, the 10th Division captain in the anime "Bleach". However i could not get my hands on the black kimono, white over shirt with the Chinese "ten" and his katana...To be Alucard in the anime "Hellsing" is also quite a thrill for me but unfortunately due to height difference again i had to gave up on the idea...i would also like to cos play as Uchiha Sasuke in the anime "Naruto". i felt that my body figure exactly fits his and my hair is around his lenght..all i need is his clothes, his headband and a contact lens to imitate his sharingan. But this time as i dislike contact lens i gave up on cos playing as him. When i want to cos-play i would try to make myself look exactly like the anime character else i would not cos play as i don not like people who cos play without knowing the character well and to dress like an anime character that totally not suits their body figure...
If i want to cos-play in public i would like to go as an organization or group as i felt that it will be more fun that was and i would love to see the expression of others while i cos-play...as i live in Singapore, cos-playing is not rather often in Singapore yet it does happens. so normally the public does not see such stuff around...
I have not cos-play before and will hope to do so some day, do you think that home-made or ready-made costume is better for cos-playing?

Not that I have anything against cosplay but usually when I see someone cosplay,I will either laugh or be a little "pissed" off.If a person cosplay a character I don't know,I will laugh because I just find it a bit weird. If its a character I know and like,I'll probably shoot my mouth, like someone cosplaying as Sanji from One Piece when the guy looks nothing like Sanji except his clothes and hair.If its a character that I know and had no feelings whatsoever,I'll probably laugh or put on an amused expression. Its a little nasty but I can't help feeling this way.
If by some miracle happens and I'll do a cosplay,it'll probably something simple like Watanuki from XXXHolic or Hanai Haruki from School Rumble

Cosplaying IMO is a big pain. Especially here when the only time you'll cosplayers come out is during the conventions. Even when they look amazing, the downside is that they don't really get to enjoy the convention. I remember there was this great trigun troupe and they couldn't move 50 ft down the line to the buying area without being stopped and asked for pictures. I think it took them an hour just to walk from one side of the seller's booths to the other... feel so bad for them >_<

I'm a shy person... can't cosplay at all... public or otherwise.
I would love to cosplay, however where I live well anime/manga isn't that known, and to walk around like a character would get me very weird people behind me. Lol, and I would say homemade costumes, you did your best on them, and you can make them more fitting to your height etc. Also it gives a better feeling, atleast when I make clothes, it gives me a nice feeling, like wow that I can do something like this:D
If it's really one of my favorite characters, i'll do it anytime, anyday-- that'll be big fun, anyways, nowadays, what else can surpirse people.
but that's the best thing about doing cosplay, to make people think you're weird, but who's not
atleast, being like your fav character, walking around looks fun as long as the suit is comfortable. how about walking like Itachi in a mall..
one time i was playing arcade, there's this fellow in a complete vincent valentine cosplay and i thought first it was some kind of promotion but in the end, it's just his personal cosplay and i respected him for being that brave to do so.
imagine, in that complete vincent looks, simply surprising

I used to have this warped view of cosplayers as being 'wanna-be s', which in a way is right.
However it's fun, if you're having fun who the heck cares if people think you're a wannabe? My friend's cousin cosplayed as Itachi in the mall for an event, ROFL, complete Akatsuki gang in full gear while shopping in Shangri-La... wish I'd been there to see when he tripped on the escalator...
I have something that resembles an Akatsuki coat at home... that'd be easy to cosplay in... plus some kimonos that are older than I am. People won't know my name anyway lol
oh yeah btw readymade costumes stink, because the fabric is cheap and will rip on contact with anything pointier than an eraser.

The only people i have ever seen cos play are nerds <,< and people that live in japan, because its like excepted as normal there ^^
Well, i would really like to cos play, but i lived in Singapore and thus it really looks weird...if my friends would like i would like to cos play all the captains in the anime "Bleach" and i would like to bring them out to go shopping...that would be really fun...i think i could get "Danpj" to cos play with me as we are classmates but he is a bit shy...by the way does anybody know where to buy black kinomos in Singapore? i want to cos play as as Hitsugaya Toushiro, the 10th Division captain in the anime "Bleach". Getting Hitsugaya's katana will also be abit difficult...plus...should i take the bus with that, people will be wondering if my katana is real...then if they call the police what should i do?
A katana is easy, even a scrap of cut illustration board will do, just paint it up in white and silver.
You can make a kimono, actually. The instructions are on this site, just improvise...

Well, doing it alone might b hard for me (i'm not that brave, hehe), but if its done in a group with friends, that would b nice. Also depends where you do it too, if its done in a place where its not 'tolerated' it won't b nice lol, but if its done at a party, that would be nice :). Too bad cos plays are not part of my country's culture :) it would b a good change lol

At first, I cannot stand for any of the cosplay.
And now, I like to watch others, but if I myself...forget about it...

Well, i've always wanted to cosplay its just that the bit of making the costume makes me wanna think twice before doing it.
Then again, my figure isnt exactly what you could say *cosplay genic*
so uhm...i dont wanna make a fool out of myself.
As for what i think of cosplayers...sometimes i think theyre awesome and sometimes no...cuz most of the time they just dont look good (SORRY FOR THE OFFENDED ONES!! I know its really hard and you put effort but thats just what i really think).
As for what character to cosplay...it wouldnt be anime. I'd choose either a priest or a high priest character in an online MMORPG called Ragnarok Online
uhm, my signature should give you an idea of what a high priest looks like

I would LOVE to cosplay as Miwako from Paradise Kiss. Pity I don't have her hair or stature. I did do Misato from NANA last year and I thought I did her ok. I wouldn't mind cosplaying as one of the Ouran cosplaying as the Edo lords either.
I would deifinitely cosplay in public( I mean hell isn't that the point?) but I will more likely do it if I had a friend with me ( ´∀`)
I don't know about homemade costumes looking better, but I think in a more purist sort of mindset, homemade ones are higher on the "OMG WOW" scale.

I think cosplaying is great. but if you said cosplaying in public, that would be weird -_- in my country, peoples only cosplaying in some kind japanese event.
I myself gonna do my first cosplay as character from bleach next week in a j-event XD but I get a problem with the katana... where should I get one??
I think I'll do cosplay again in the future, if I have some free time...

I'm being ignored!
