Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

At first glance, the background suits the
image. It is simplified enough to not overwhelm
the figure and its hues and tones are nicely
within the overall scheme.

But the fine line at the top of buildings
does point the lack of crispness of line in
the figure.

I do agree with polydore in that the background and foreground have different levels of focus. The background seems much sharper, which look sa bit odd. Perhaps a clearer, crisper foreground image with a background that's a bit less sharp.

Interesting bg...
maybe you should make it more even?
because all the windows and lights are one one side...the left
maybe add windows and some lights on the right too?
and what has already been said about the focus...
and the top..more on the top right w/o buildings ...maybe add something that gives it the night sky feeling? or leaving it would be ok too..would be a very very dark night
anyways keep it up~ looks nice so far~!
sides the char being a little too blurry =x

The character scan needs alot! more work being cleaned up. it's grainy and it's blurry, bad combination.

i like the idea of your wp, very creative (the lights on in only a couple of the buildings).

Good idea, but no-so-good execution. If you're going to make a detailed BG like you started, you need to finish. You won't have a city like that with only 3 of the buildings with windows. My suggestion - add more detail, colors, whatever it takes to make it more convincing.

I agree that focus is an issue. Here's a different way around it (although sharpening the figure is definitely the best place to go): You could remove the yellow lights from the buildings so that they're more uniformly gray, blur it a bit so that it doesn't steal attention from your subject, and then, to get more yellow back into the picture, you could add some text perhaps? I had initially thought that moon/stars are the right color to match, but I can't see any way to incorporate them into the picture. Personally, I'd flip the subject horizontally and move her to the left side, but that's probably a lot more my personal tastes.

Try using motion blur in the glow that you use or radial blur
