I got this idea while going to sleep in bed. I was thinking back to all my childhood bedtime stories that my parents use to read to me while I slowly feel asleep. I decided to create a wallpaper off the theme of bedtime stories. This new wallpaper tries to convey that feeling.
This wallpaper took around 2 days to make since I was trying to keep it simple but still trying to give the impression of a dreamy image.

Woah looks nice, the scan of the girl is extracted nicely. is well fitting and stuff. there are just a few points that might could use some adjusting.
the open book appears floating in my eyes. the shadow under it doesnt seem to fit. Try to make a other shadow effect on that
The wall in the room doesnt seem to be fitting, cous the (awesome) shadows on the floor appear from trees and other stuff. so ya could try to let her sit on a ponton/bridge like and add some water maybe.

That's not a wall, it's suppose to be a tiled floor. I guess I need more work on the perspective since you seem to see a wall.
Yeah, work out the perspective -- do something with her shadow cause now it's just a chara shadow, 2D, not a real one [which i suppose you want to have]
WHoaa, this looks so so nice. I really like your concept a lot. And since I mean it, I can't really tell you how you could improve :-?.
Maybe some shadows as alienzero said, but I guess it looks ok without tthem too.

Not quite sure I follow what you are trying to say. I imagined the light source on top, shining down on her so I made the shadows the way they are.

some suggestion.... the books (2 of them i thnk) seems to be not fit with the image, i guess adding just one book is fine rather than two
