As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

Personally I think the background is too generic. You just used two default brushes, if I'm not mistaken. That said, for three hours it isn't bad at all.

The scan is very pretty!I love it!and it seems quite clean to me...
in my opinion you have some problems with the BG...I mean...in some parts it seems like the characters are floating on the grass...here I've signed them...and with the one on the right corner on the bottom I wanted to show you that it seems like the grass has grown on the leaves:

I hope the link works... ^^''

and in my opinion you should try with another font...try and see if you find out something in this site: www.dafont.com

good luck! ^^

I add more leaf at the ground...about 3 more brushes...(i don't think you gonna recognize that)
the grass that grown above the leaf already erase (i'm not sure plese check again..)
in the end I delete the font...
this is the result:

http://img02.picoodle.com/img/img02/7/1/7/f_Suzumiyai_9b0cm_4b791f8e.jpg

now, is it okay to enter the submission??
or still anything wrong?

Hi there..
you have a nice wallpaper in here!! really cute...
i think that the scan on the right side has a little grainy on the skirt (you should clean it)... and i think it's a little bad extracted in some places (see the long pieces of cloth comming under her skirt) ...
about the leaves... i think you should get rid of the ones that are above the characters... like on their skirt.. and the ones at the top on the center which are blurry and don't seam to blend well... (besides there is one too big at the top... )
wish you luck
kisses!

Hi.. its looks okay for a start.. but how many hours or days have you been working on this?? because for me.. if you're not a pro(yet), you should submit a wallpaper that was made in more than 5 hours or even days.. lol. okay.. the wallpaper looks okayy.. you need to fix some stuff..

your scans are really grainy.. you need to clean your scan.. the grass needs a lot of work.. and i think those leaves are too "all over the place".. it looks like the it wasn't planned. i would use a stock image for the grass for the background.. <-- make it a lil cartoonish.. then put your character on it.. then use your grass brush to cover some parts of their body so it would look like theyre actually sitting on a grass.. and DONT USE THE WHITE with GREEN for the grass.. use some the kinda bright-ish green color

i dont think those leaves on the grass and the falling leaves will work... it would work with falling cherry blossoms.. and instead of those orange leaves on the grass, i would put some flowers.. you see that purple flower on the left?? make a lot of copies of that.. make multiple colors.. change the sizes ..and put them wherever you want... you can also use the flowers from that girl's hat and the girl's headband..

good luck!

Nice work so far, if it's your first as you say it is :).

I just wanted to say that you should make the grass more..umm.. green? when you use the grass brush, change the foreground color And the background color with two different greens and you'll get some new effect.
It kinda botheres me that the scan is not really blending with the grass. What you could do is flatten the grass in the portions where their feet are, so it looks like there's some actual weight in there, or try to use the grass brush, but in smaller sizes.
You can mix brush sizes, brush colors to make the grass look more realistic and such.

for more brushes, go to deviantart.com, it's a great resource mine. when you're there, go to Browse-> Resources-> Adobe Photoshop Brushes and there you are. Look for the most popular ones from "all time" and i'm sure you'll find something useful. ^^

Hope that helps. Give your best :)

I already erase the leaves that above the skirt...

so this the result:

i still think that the cherry blossom and the flowers idea is great.. its okay if you dont want to use it..
you still have to clean your scan.. good luck!!

Hi there...
have a new idea :P ... what if you make that big blurry leaf and the other one on the left on the hat... not blurry.. and give ti some shape... with some dark red colors draw the borthers of the leaf (or stroke them, not to much cause the stroke doesn't always look good) and draw the thin lines inside leaf...
i will explain the reason of giving that leaf some shape.. when the objets are more at the front.. we usually see them more detailed... and when things are at the back.. far away.. we see things more blurry, less detailed.. :)
Hope this looks good :) ...
about the right scan's skirt... still grainy... here is a tutorial for cleaning the scan.. http://www.imanimetions.net/tutorial/tutorial.php?view=clean
try it.. and we'll see how it looks :)
wish you luck
kisses!!

ohh forgot to say...
yes jrpjnoyako08 gave you a great idea... but i think it's kind of difficult for a first wallpaper... besides you have worked in this proyect and i know it's anoying to change everything going on in it...
I know lassyness won't get you anywhere.. but changing everything being this your first wall won't get you anywhere too... you will end hopeless and confussed...
so lets try to improve this proyect.. for getting accepted.. you 'll have time to do a better detailed wall next time...

I think the idea was good but its beyond my skill right now... (just 3 hours for study and all by myself...)
i'm sorry for being "newbie"

jrpjnoyako08

i would use a stock image for the grass for the background..

thx for the idea...but i don't know if this good....

my theme is autumn...the cherry blossom still didn't have petals...

btw, where can i get a cherry blossom brush?? or i just make it one??

clarings
when the objets are more at the front.. we usually see them more detailed... and when things are at the back.. far away.. we see things more blurry, less detailed.. :)

i'm focusing the character that are behind so the front line were blur.....or wasn't?

i follow the tutorial but still i don't know the change...(or it wasn't change.), is still grainy ?

this are the result:
http://img02.picoodle.com/img/img02/7/1/7/f_suzumiyai_503bm_40076fbc.jpg

maybe the cherry blossom and flower idea i'll use on my next wallpaper.

The only major thing I can see is that the wall is getting smaller and smaller every time you're doing an update...

I would advise you to really get ride of the big leave on top cause it's really not looking good at all.
You also need to get even more grass on the character and make sure the entire line of grass is on the character cause on the red left shoe you have a line of the grass that's not completed... You have a missing part in the middle of the line...

I liked the idea of the falling leaves on the characters but then you need to add some thin black lines on the leaves to figure the lines of natural leaves... Even in fall they have lines... or you can use light orange and red...

The stock picture doesn't look good at all in my mind cause it looks too realistic and then you don't have any grass going on the character anymore. I think you should get more grass brushes from www.deviantart.com or use the generic ones of photoshop a bit better like making them darker and avoid really light grass.

To make the wall look better you can also avoid to let us see the ground like in the version before the last one. Just make the entire floor covered with grass and use different brushes...

And I have one question.. The left top character has some shadows on her... But the rest of the girl don't.. Is it made in purpose? I guess with some practice you'll be able to add some shadows on the others too.

Good luck! And keep working on this! :)
