This thread is pretty much what it says. Who has watched Last Exile and what did you think of it.

I thought it was an excellent anime but i hardly see it discussed. The story and the world that was created was great (although the twist at the end was pushing things a little IMO). The idea of Vanships and the Guild, the designs, and the characters all came together to make a great anime.

Dude, I loved this series!! The whole thing was really well done. I loved the mysteriums once they were all assembled.

The english version is what I watched and I think the voice acting was really great. I don't know who my favorite characters are because I loved them all. I like in the begininng, they showed mullen shetland on that ship saying his litigation before battle.

It took me like 3 viewings to make since of the whole thing though because I kept getting sucked into specific parts of the anime. It wasn't until the second viewing did I understand the hiearchy of the Guild over Anatoray and Disith. I completely forgot that Disith and Anatoary were at war. Wait, I hope I'm not ruining this for anyone. Wait, I'l put spoiler at the top.

I loved the relationship between Dio and Luciolou especially when they show their past together. The ending was totally cool to me at parts because when you watch it the second time, you can see them hint at the whole birthday thing with Dio from his very first time entering the show. Its one of my all time favorites.

Just dropping my support for the series. I loved it the atmosphere, the design and the fantasy story. When that came out it was one of Gonzo's best animations to date. They finally got CG right, alot of their earlier works made the CG to obvious and detracted from the picture.

Hah... i liked the series... its strays from the common anime theme, and its story is unique. The lack of fanservice is probably also one of the reasons i like it... =P

All in all a good watch.. =)

I've seen parts of it...but i would say that the series itself was amazingly gorgeusly well done!! the art work was very beauiful and i thought that the story was easy to follow along. ^__^ the designs for the ships and everything was just gorgeus!!

I absolutely loved this anime. I even have the official limited edition boxset of the 1st DVD w/ Alvy figure, mousepad and the hologram box.

Why did I like this anime? The anime was drawn beautifully, I always thought the art fit the mood for the entire anime. It was never particularily bright ( mostly dull, depressed, dark mood ) throughout the series except when they ( Lavie and Cloud ) were flying around or during races.

The story actually links from beginning to the end unlike some that stray from its initial story/main characters ( Gundam Seed Destiny ).

The music was excellent, I especially loved the ending song. I always thought this series was underrated because it never got as much publicity that it deserves.

I never watch it be4 but it sound like it great...so i wanna hear more about it

I loved the art design as well, after watching the series I became a fan of Range Murata's work.

I don't very good know that manga but i very love the works of Range Murata!

Definately a superb series. The art is beatiful and the story is very well done. The characters personalities were very well defined.

Mad art with well blended CG, pretty good story, great music and soundtracks, and powerful characters.. simply grand..^^

I liked it until episode 17 or somewhere around there... I forgot the reason why but the show didnt make a impact on me like other anime... I probably don't like the characters but I thought the first 3 episodes were really interesting and then it got sort of boring. I wanted to know more about their parents past instead of the just the part where they died. I wanna see what they accomplished etc... :(

Truly one of my top anime. An original epic story that kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time.

I've never been much of a CG animation fan, but I think it was put to good use in Last Exile. I haven't finished it yet, but it's good from where I'm standing!

Last Exile is a excellent series.
