Funimation Fansubs
It seems that Funimation is now in the business of fansubbing and has bought out Dattebayo Fansubs,
Proof:
(Not fabricated, from dattebayo's website http://yhbt.mine.nu/news.aspx?id=db-funi )That sure surprised me, however I'm not complaining because they might improve some things. I still wonder what the future holds for this though. As long as they do a good job and fansubs still come out then I'm ok with this. On the other hand, some people are taking this a little too seriously and you can find tons of criticism on Dattebayo. My point is So, what do you think about Funimation entering the fansubing business?
(I don't really care, but I'm interested on what you guys think and what the future of Funimation Fansubs will turn out)
Was it really necessary to state that then? All I'm asking is peoples' opinions anyway.AnimeLover93I dont think this discussion is gonna last long..
=/
AnimeLover93my bad... hehe... I dont really know anyhting about it to tell you the truth!!
=/
If you mean you don't know anything about bittorrent, then I don't blame you. You'd only know about this unless you used bittorrent and watched Naruto and Bleach torrents.
*goes to dattebayo's channel* oh damn, a key is needed..
anyway, I don't really believe it..

cause now I am confused
If you still think this information is wrong then read the company news on the site I put above.
skyblue24So you guys want proof, well here it is: http://yhbt.mine.nu/

That would be one thing, but there are a few problems with it.
First, any news that comes from a site with "yhbt" in its URL is likely to be taken with a grain of salt. (YHBT = you have been trolled)
Second, the site design is reportedly done by "GNAA". GNAA is the abbreviation of Gay N*gger Association of America, a trolling organization that takes its name from a cheesy Danish gay porn movie. Among other things, they have been responsible for putting the final nail in 4chan's coffin the last time it died when they launched a massive crapflood. It even links to their site at the bottom of the page.
Third, did you look at the dates on the company news you referred us to? (Hint: the date on all the news releases is April 1, 2006.)
And fansub groups aren't limited liability companies, with assets that can be bought out, and the news reports themselves read like something The Onion would write, but that's not important.

It would be nice if a moderator could lock this thread before any unsuspecting readers get fooled into thinking this is real.
Another pointer that this is fake is that the only "proof" offered is an obviously fabricated magazine cover hosted on imageshack. If this were really true, we'd at least be seeing some links to press releases from funimation.

I really am sorry if I am wrong. It's interesting how many points you've made and I think I've made a grave mistake. I just never thought that they would pull a stunt like this. I just hope that this really isn't stunt, otherwise I'd probably freak out about this thread. On the bright side, now I know more about dattebayo and what type of a group they are. Well, thanks on the info. Like they say, it's better to know the truth than a pack of lies.
