Full Metal Alchemist Season 2?!
Hey everyone!
We were just discussing this at work and I wanted to know what your guys thoughts were on this. Recently, they announced a second season of Full Metal Alchemist here and since then I've become really excited because the first season was so good. I'm not sure where they will go with it, but I still am anxious to see it come out. I am going to miss Al in the suit of armor though...

Please note that I am referring to a second series of FMA, not the second half of the first series. Again I apologize for the confusion/misinformation! Please don't hat me haha.

I thought they announced a series reboot which will take the path where the manga's story diverged.

Either way I look forward to it. The anime does drift away from the manga at one point.
Yeah, it diverges quite a bit from the manga towards the end. I'm not sure that they will rebuild from where it diverged though. That may create a lot of confusion with the fans, especially if they haven't read the mangas

So, I betting on the DtB, not a FMA... Or others
Also, if they make another FMA, it would be called "2nd Season", it'll be just FMA2, cuz it was more than 1 season of episodes. I think First FMA had total of 4~5 seasons.

Technically speaking it already had a second season. I know because the PS2 video games are supposed to take place between seasons 1 & 2. If your talking about a whole another series well that's something different entirely.
P.S. FMA only had 2 seasons each about 25 episodes long.

I read somewhere it's expected to be released April 2009 with the same name.
I skimmed through a different article, sorry but I didn't catch a source for everyone...I just hope it reboots to the manga......for the first anime to diverge however I have to say the story provided wasn't that bad.

A reboot I'd actually love to see in an anime the most would probably be Gantz.
It has a pretty good story, and the anime was good when it followed the manga.

I miss the hell out of this series, I feel they should pck up where they left the manga.
With this, and the the Hajime no Ippo comeback, My weekly viewing schedule will get so much more diverse.

This thread is badly named. The first series was comprised of two seasons already. So I think the title of the thread should be changed to (not that it can) "Full Metal Alchemist Series 2" This will avoid unwanted confusion when talking about season 1, season 2, or the new series.

Because of the different Homonculus in the manga they would confuse fans if its not a completely different series i.e King Bradley being Wrath instead of Pride. I've really want to see them incorporate the different lands that are featured in the manga that are not in the Anime.
