Full Metal Alchemist Season 2?!
I'm stuck between wanting them to continue on from the movie and wanting them to do a reboot since I also enjoy the manga version.
I rather liked the differences in the anime from the manga and would really like to see how Ed and Al get back home and such. Really interesting I think.
However, I would also really like to see the actual story animated and see some of the characters come to life in this new season.
Ahhh. Can't decide! They should just do both!

Personally I was satisfied with the way the anime wrapped up (even if the ending was pretty bittersweet), and I'd be disappointed if it took the route of other anime that don't know when to quit. =/ I have no problem with OVAs an whatnot, but I don't personally *need* to see a story beyond what has already been released, nor do I feel like I need to see a version more true to the manga.
This is actually one rare case where I prefer the anime hands down compared to the manga that it originated from. ^^;

I know there's a short story depicting what happens after the Full Metal Alchemist movie out there. Anyways, the short story shows a three child looking like Ed, Al and Windy, you see the three running around what's probably Tokyo playing along, and in the last minutes of the clip the three arrives at an apartment saying "Uncle Ed, have a gift from uncle Al!". Then you see the camera slowly moving across the room showing that how Edward has made a number of contribution toward science. When then the camera stops and you see a shadowy figure stands up, and the only thing indicting that the person is Ed is his Auto-mail. I'm pretty sure you could find this clip on youtube somewhere, I don't know what it's called. Or you could just buy one of the FMA bonus feature dvd(s). I guess that's how the anime version of FMA is suppose to end, however for the second season they could just void the fact that this was ever created and start from where they left off at the movie or the last episode.
The second season is the manga story

Because the manga story and the anime story are differents in many ways
I hope the manga story for this season

For the last time its not a second season. Full Metal Alchemist already had two seasons. This would constitute a remake (or as some others have put it, a reboot). I wish we could rename this thread.
As I said in my edit, this thread was not named correct. As for an update, they have confirmed that FMA will begin to air in April of 2009. The article is here
Don't worry I wasn't referring to you. That was aimed more at others who continue to say "second season".DandoanAs I said in my edit, this thread was not named correct. As for an update, they have confirmed that FMA will begin to air in April of 2009. The article is here
Oh good!
And here I was thinking somebody was holding a knife to my throat lol jk jk. Thanks though for pointing it out

That's awkward. They totally changed from the way the manga plot went when they finished the anime. To do another one... I don't know how they could make it work. I'd be willing to see it for curiousity's sake though. I'm quite fond of several characters who never appearaed in the anime.
Another Fullmetal Alchemist series is something I wasn't expecting, but now that I know it's coming out, I'm really looking forward to it! The original was one of my favorites. It satisfied me.
Really?? Another series, huh? That's kinda cool! I thought the second season of the first series was okay (though a little odd at parts), but it'll be interesting to see what the original mangaka's intentions were for the Elric brothers. I hope they're able to keep many of the team that worked on the original for the new episodes, especially the original seiyuu... they were perfect, couldn't imagine them any other way!

I think its not an extra season but a re-telling of the manga. Like Negima?! it wasn't a new season rather than a different anime focusing on different parts of the manga.

Well, i hope they will be making it much more interesting.
Yay! I can't wait for the next season!
Even though the anime version is pretty different with the manga, I'm very interested in what's going to happen next. I can't wait to see Envy again!
(hahaha, I should be working on my project instead of playing around. It's due tomorrow, and I just started it today

I'm quite happy that there will be another Full Metal Alchemist series. The first one was fun, engaging and thrilling. It was something that I really enjoyed and it had some of the best music I've heard. I haven't really read the manga but have heard very good things about it so, I'm really happy that this is happening.
