Well, I saw it coming and it was expected. Though some series really are good and should keep on going, others just might grow stale and ruin the series altogether. I'd prefer an anime that was short lived in all it's glory rather than one stretched for the mere purpose of selling something.
Do you mind if I asked what manga you were interested in?

Well I haven't read any manga yet so no but it happened to me when I watch animes, four if I'm not wrong. Maburaho, Rave master, Prism ark and Kaze no stigma!
Yes, Kaori Yuki's series! T_T I LOVE HER WORK! 1st time read her work was Angel Sanctuary, wasn't AS hooked till getting into her other works such as Camelot Garden and BAM! Hooked! >.> same with Arina Tanemura's works lol! Full Moon wo Sagashite! :D amazing still!!
This happens to me a lot, but I'm not the kind of person to even follow a sequel. I actually end up loosing interest by the time a sequel comes out, heh.
Yep...
Then the Barnes and Noble which is the only book store in town does not put up any of the new issues. Sucks. I want my manga!!!!!!

Well I wouldn't exactly say I felt they were going to make a 2nd series, but rather I wish they would ^_^. I wish they would make a new version of Cardcaptor Sakura based on another character's view, like Tomoyo so that you can get a more personal look into each character ^_^. But other than that, no, I've not done that before.

Nope... never happened
It has happened to me, though maybe I may be hoping too much that Spirited Away continued. The ending it has is excellent and a sequel may ruin it, I'm just greedy wanting more.
Somewhat; I love Tokyo Babylon and then I got into X rather heavily...only for them to discontinue it 2/3 the way through. I'm still annoyed by it, and X has been on hiatus for how many years...
CLAMP does way too much, I feel. They have a lot of great series but I wish they'd just focus on one at a time. They said they'd like to finish it someday but I don't foresee that happening (because really, how often does it happen) and I'm not getting my hopes up. I try not to invest too heavily in ongoing series unless they're finished or they're so popular that their support isn't going to stop and leave me high and dry, Blade of the Immortal being the exception (since so few people know what it is).
Sometimes I just kind of feel greedy when things are open ended; why can't I just be satisfied with the wonderful experience I've just had?

I don't think this has ever happened to me with manga, but it's happened a few times with some anime. It depends on how hooked I was to the series, but it can be pretty annoying. =/

Yup, happened to me first with "Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne!"
I wish Arina-sensei would care to continue the story *sigh* I want to see how Finn and Access get together as humans ;____; I love Access since the first time I read the manga with 12 (or so) and i want there to be a sequel! She even made some kind of little "preview" >_<

I have fallen in love with some guys in some manga i have read, i admire them, i'm proud of them, I get excited when talking about them, but sometime it makes my heart hurt because they only exist in manga, in paper and in fantasy, there is not such kind of man in reality!I got upset and sometimes feel uneasy in living without them!Later i try to think that such kind of man in those manga will definitely find perfect girl for them, who also exist in their world, so they can be together, but not me !
When I watched Fushigi Yuuri, i have thought much, why i'm not that girl, who goes through the time back to an ancient world and find what a manly guy, such a romantic love story and even when they belong to 2 different world, they still can be together!

@ ambstrike:
Maburaho, yeah. It did end on a sequel-like note, and it did anger me it's not continued. Haha.
As for Rave Master, it's not over. At all. The anime leaves off on volume 12 of the manga, and the manga (on 32 right now) goes up to 35. Hiro Mashima is going to finish the anime after he is done with the manga series. So no worries, mate.
