Fullmetal Alchemist..?

Fullmetal Alchemist is fairly a popular series so I'm kind of surprised that there isn't a sub board for this
Is it because:
1. Not many people like the new series
2. Not enough fans to support the board
3. Don't really care about FA
4. All of the above?

I dunno, what causes them to make a board for a series in the first place? Is it just dependent upon how many repeat topics are made about a series? Or do they require a certain number of people to request the board?
Either way, it just seems that Fullmetal Alchemist isn't talked about that often. Looking back through the archives, there are a couple locked threads relating to the old series, but nothing that's been posted in in the last few months.
Who knows?
Also, are there really a lot of people who don't like the new series? I'm liking it even better than the first one.

For some reason I'm not much into it in the new series like the old one.. it just doesn't have that "magic" feeling that makes me want to re-watch the episode again. I love the previous animation (art) better and I was very shocked that Roy, Riza, and Winry's seiyuu (voice actor) changed. I hope they show up again somewhere in the series again as a different character at least.
One thing I dislike or wish they change is the A part to B part (commercial break) where the American guy says "Fullmetal Alchemist". To me that seems so childish and annoying at times
But don't get me wrong I still enjoy watching FA and there are awesome moments that the animators did well to depict the scenes from the manga, such as the part where Ed says "I'm not God but just a human being that can't save a little girl" (rain scene) and the second Scar vs Ed fight where Ed counterattacked Scar's alchemy

I guess I haven't watched the old series in quite a while, so I didn't really notice the art change or change in voice actors. I would agree, though, that the English "Fullmetal Alchemist" things for the commercial break are pretty strange. I mostly ignore them now, but they really weirded me out at first. XD
And maybe if I went back and watched the old one again, I'd realize that I liked it more than I remember, but I'm just feeling that the story in the new one flows a bit better.

I don't consider the first series to be the original series. The first animated series was based on the manga with a lot of changes made by Bones. The current version is following the manga, sometimes panel by panel. Personally I feel the current series is best seen with fresh eyes, and I consider the first and the current series to be completely separate series with different tone and characterization. I would even consider the first series to be an alternate-universe retelling of the FMA just because of the numerous differences between the first series and the work it was based off of. Anyway, in regards to the current episode I've watched, I enjoyed it a lot. If one considers the emotional content of the last episode and the next episode, then this episode would be the comic moment, the relief, between two heavy episodes. In that sense the amount of comedy in this episode may be appropriate as it provides greater emotional contrast to the episodes before and after.
From what I saw the new series I think that the magic and everything will be kept with a nice quality in my opinion! I loved the first series and I bet the second will be as great as the first ones... Of course that is normal for the fans to appreciate more the older but I think that the series is not that bad so far. ^^

I'm happy that they didn't cut the Full Monty Alchemist joke. XD That was funny as hell! Oh god, they changed it so Ed doesn't have a towel covering himself XD. Haha, Oh Envy... you saw a little too much when you opened that door. Ishbal flashbacks as a movie would just be so epic. Also, It's such a shame, that the anime is only covering it in one episode. I hope they do it justice.
I'm currently enjoying the new series, because there are many scenes, characters and arcs in the manga that I thought deserved to be animated. The animation is still very good, especially the effects and the battle scenes, and I'm really glad some of the original voice actors and actresses returned to their roles (like Paku Romi, Fujiwara Keiji and Kugimiya Rie). The new ones, in my opinion, were well cast and grew into their parts as the series progressed.
However, I feel that Brotherhood goes a bit too fast and there are still some deviations from the manga.
But in the end, the first anime was what got me into FMA, so it will always have a special place in my heart. Then again, anything FMA will always have a special place in my heart no matter what. XD

Yea the new series is better they follow the manga closer than the firstDondaI dunno, what causes them to make a board for a series in the first place? I'm hoping that this series is just going to keep on running without the usual season break. Funny, how I was getting ready to go into withdrawal until sometime next year, but Ola and behold wikipedia has updated episode names and air-dates for the next 5-6 weeks (which kicks totally kicks butt). Kimbley is a strange character. if he had the stone all along why the heck didn't he just break out and do something else? I mean if he's working with the homunculi he'd be a valuable ally if he were outside from the start, maybe they wouldn't have lost lust or infiltrated so much by mustang's faction. I do agree a lot of his logic is pretty understandable especially when he was talking to mustang/hawkeye in the last episode.
And about the pacing, it's a good thing they're already in the later chapters of the manga. a ton of (Feces) happens after this point and the more episodes they have to play with the better they're gonna do it. episode 30 obviously glossed over some things but the previous 3-4 episodes were very faithful to the manga, which is what I'm expecting to get later on when the action really counts.

Going by Mustang's description of how control of the Lior riots was transferred from Eastern Command to Central Command, and from Amestris's easy to read map, it's safe to assume there are five command centers for the entire nation, one Central and one for East, West, South and North. Theoretically, all five armies are of equal strength, with the four regions nominally under the command of Central. Most of the elite troops would naturally be concentrated in Central, since the Homunculi needs their cooperation most. In fact, it doesn't seem like Central regards the regions to be able to rebel against them, and even treats it like a dumping ground for out-of-favor generals like Grumann. This could prove costly as Mustang acutely observes, most of the Ishbal War vets are concentrated in the East, plus the story's now going to cover Armstrong's sister, who's in charge of the North.
Just observing from a strategic point of view, it would be interesting if North and East really does rebel, then Mustang's insurrection would have a more realistic chance of succeeding as it'll be 2 vs 3 armies, and North Command is probably just as battle-hardened as East Command, compared to the quiet West and South Commands (story-wise), so it'll be mostly Central holding out against the rebels.

I adore this show. It's definitely one of my favorites and if I had to rate it, I'd give it a 10. The first time I watched it I was hooked, and it really did leave a huge impression on me. It's really a "feel good" anime with an interesting plot, good music, good animation, and likeable characters. I thought a lot of things about the show were unique and that's why I enjoyed it so much. Granted, when I rewatch it or look back on it I see its flaws, but no anime is really a "masterpiece" but FMA is one of those I think was really well done and really entertaining. I do prefer the story buildup of the manga, since the anime added quite a bit of unnecessary characters/story twists. But it doesn't captivate me and have me on the edge of my seat as much as the anime did.

I think it's not as popular as GALs and others with hot guys...
It's a series but it may not get enough sponsors or support because it wins with its story line mainly..
After so many sad stories and nice characters, I think people forget the love for the series quite quickly..
