This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Donations of up to $5 do not earn papers.

What manga do you think is the best art?

I think it's Ghost in the Shell 2: Man Machine Interface.
However, most of it was digital art. Especially the backgrounds.

I always thought Trigun had some pretty cool artwork. They scare me a little, but fascinate me at the same time and the fight scenes are awesome.

I forgot about Ah My Goddess. I have not read it for awhile, but I do remember how stunning the art work was. I was obsessed at one time with copying the pictures.

Bastard!! (by Kazushi Hagiwara) and Berserk (by Kentaro Miura) have ridiculously awesome artwork. Of course, Berserk is bi-monthly and Bastard!! is released whenever Hagiwara feels like it, so they have a lot more time to work on it than the weekly stuff. Still, though, the amount of detail is awesome, creative series, etc.

I think Arina Tanemura's "Full Moon O Sagashite", her drawings have allways been nice but I think they were beautiful in this, and I don't use the b-word very much as I think it's over used. However it's one of my faves so I'm baised (sp? sorry) I also think apart from the goofy expresions, Mihona Fujii's "Gals!" had some pretty nice, detailed art in it too..

Oooh... hard to decide! I love the drawing style in Shaman King, practically every second male is so cute! The distinctive way of drawing the hair, the eyes really catches me. And of course, people stand in cool poses too. In the first few volumes the mouth was done a bit weird, Manta looked downright ugly, and Yoh stood like an old man, but you could tell Takei's skills improved as the series went on and by the time you get to volume 15-16 the drawings are really pretty.

I'd say Kaori Yuki has done some pretty good drawings too. Her quality varies somewhat though... sometimes it's amazing, sometimes it looks flat and ugly. Her later manga are better.
