HOW MANY EPISODES DOES AN ANIME HAS TO HAVE?
I think 26 episodes is the ideal about - not too long that it get boring, but not too short that everything is rushed. Licenced By Royalty would have been a great show if it was longer, while almost all long anime have fillers or get boring.

I think it is depend on what kind of anime, funny anime has 26 episode is ok, such as School Rumble.
but if the anime has many many episodes is not good, such as Detector Conan

It really depends on the anime 26 is a good amount but 50 seems to meet the needs of Gundam SEED/Destiny. FMA was good and it had what 51?
An anime can be as long as the author wants to but he/she has to keep it interesting to watch till the end, or else a long anime will become tiresome.

I think the best animes are these who have between 26 and 50 episodes so the storyline can develop and the people who watch it can definitely love it and become interested in everything about it. I like animes that have much more episodes, like Naruto, Bleach, Pokemon and so on, but they have some strange sort of atmosphere which connects you to the characters' emotions and you become used to it, but some animes with a large amount of episodes are rather boring ...
Ususally its 24 or 26 episodes for one season of the anime. and also depends on what the creators want to put in and out of the anime from the manga if there is any one for it

Yes, but, prismxxo, how come only in 13 episodes the whole story could be revealed ? I think the story must be boring or too fast-moving to be developed in only this much episodes. One normal season of 26 episodes is some kind of exciting, but on the other side, when you finally love the anime, it ends :)

an anime serie that is to short leaves you asking for more, for example ikkitousen
while series like bleach, naruto, and one piece (those are good animes) they leave you wondering if you will live long enough to see the end.
one pice started in the 90's and to the date it hasnt show any signs that it will ever end.
Naruto is the top example this days with so many fillers that many people have lost interest, i think they will not show the same pation like in the beginning so you see to many episodes is bad and very few episodes is bad as well.

Well every show has to have an end to it. There is a point in every show where you can't make any more storylines. Some shows do stupid things and just use the same exact storyline on every episode, but change the enemies up a bit. Shows that are interesting and have diversity like Bleach really are extremely interesting and make you not want the show to have an end to it. But really thinking about it all shows are limited by the artists imagination.

A good anime doesn't need a limit to how many episodes there will be. For some, it might take 26 to depict the story, for others, it might take 52. But for some others that seem to have a limitless *obviously there IS a limit, but i'm just saying..* amount of episodes, it's the type to either drag it out or just to have a really extensive plot to the story or something.

Length of episodes usually follows season air time. So it's 13 for 3 month period, 26 for 6 month, or 52 for 1 year. Being tied to the story I thinks it all really depends on the story itself. If the anime is really intense, making it last more than 26 is really tiring to watch (can you imagine 52 episodes of evangelion?). If it's light and funny, it cal last a long long time (Ranma, Urusei Yatsura, etc.)

I think it'd be something like 26 chapters and then they will release 2 OVA and they might make a second season or third season, but I think they would probably have 26 chapters for a season. I'm not sure too, but bleach would probably more than 100 chapter tho.
Bleach better have more than 100, just like naruto.

Personally i prefer about 50 episodes.
Anime's like Chobits which are about 25 episodes are good but are a bit to short and if it would have a little more time to develop the characteurs and the story's it would be that much better.
Of course there is no ideal length for an anime. I found that gundam seed had a perfect length. 50 episodes but FMA which had 51 i found was a bit to short. Ultimately depending on the quality of the anime you would want to watch only 5 episodes or 2-300 episodes. In any way, a good anime should want you to want to watch more of it. good anime's shouldnt make you feel relieved that you have finally watched them all but you should be disapointed that it's over already
