Alritey folks. You know those ones that are just so darn cheesy with the corniest lines!

Number one, in my opinion, is SAILOR MOON. Both the dub and sub, yet I would say the dub was worse. Couldn't they have come up with better lines or comebacks? Seriously, "in the name of love, blah, blah,blah." Sailor Moon S Movie, as she was fighting Princess Snow Kaguya, that corny nature thought in her head to keep them alive and stuff! Yet, I hate the fact that the DUB version changed the names and TOKYOPOP, making it worse by changing Usagi to Bunny and making Mamoru, Darien Shields. However, what I don't understand is the fact that some animes way better like Fruits Basket could never be as popular as this.

However, despite that I still loved it though. It's something about the first anime that introduces you to the whole industry, when you were a young child, that you just cannot forget and hate.

Well, most of the Mahou Shoujo shows are pretty lame. Since they all have their own little catch phrases that needs to be spoken every 5 seconds.

My personal cheesiest... Ai Yori Aoshi.

why i say so, because their relationship is too perfect it kills me. as a big fan of love story anime titles, this is the only one that i did not like.

but i have to admit i enjoyed the story overall. i just don't like their love story.

I'd have to vote Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh. I mean, they're there to push product, so I don't expect much, but it still makes me die a little inside every time I hear of it.

Hmm...well, the thing that got on my gosh darn nerves is the fact that Aoi barely shows any backbone. She acts as if Kaoru's her whole life and she has none whatsoever. It's sweet, yeah, but it gets pretty pathetic. Sure she has her good moments but it could get really annoying from time to time. I know it's those unconditional, I'll-do-anything-for-you love, but it's too much I'll-do-EVERYTHING-for-you stuff. Don't get me wrong, Kaoru is a good guy and they are a cute couple, but, still...

However, it's a very nice anime. I would say the anime has WAY BETTER art than the manga. Ai Yori Aoshi's all right, but for some reason, it doesn't really capture my interest, even though I'm a huge fan of love story anime titles too.

I'd have to say pokemon, Yu-gi-oh and Hamtaro.
Though I would say Sailor moon is cheesy to.

Why is it that the cheesiest ones were the most popular in America back then? YU-GI-OH, SAILOR MOON, POKEMON. WHY? WHY? WHY? Isn't it known that there are way better stuff -actually MASTERPIECES- out there that should be having the real fame and glory?

Probably becuase companies were licensing what they thought would appeal to the (very lucrative) childrens' market. Thing is, the masterpieces and other good stuff is aimed at older viewers, and "cartoons" aren't generally considered fare for adults here.

How sad about the fact that so much people are missing out!

Sailor Moon was definitely cheese-tastic (though I'm obviously a fan!) but man did it pave the way for a lot of anime exposure over in the US.
But I think Pokemon beats it. I just can't sit through an episode of that crap! (mind you I had to, ad nauseum, just not by choice)

Final Approach takes my vote..

Hey, anyone remember Dragonball Z? That show is so cheesy that you could cut it down to 300 g slices and sell it as cheese. :p

Many other series too. It's a cheesy world we are living in.

I don't know about lame lines, but I do know the lamest anime series that has ever been created on this planet. Which in my opinion, is BoBoBo-Bo-BoBo. It IS the stupidest show I have ever seen in my life of seeing anime or any show for that matter. It's basically about a guy who fights with his nose hair and his friends tag along with there dumb powers. THIS is basically the worst anime series I have ever known and I don't even know why Japan would create this in the first place.

well Aoi is like that because of the way she was raised. She was brought up in a home that is way too tradtional it is like the old time in japan where the wife's whole life is the husband. they have to do anything and everything the husband says. so yeah i'm defending her cause I like Aoi
