This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Recently I have been facinated by lightning on how it works.I guess because its been raining all week.As a child I have been scared of it. now that I know more,I know what precautions to take.Three years ago, I saw a lightning strike an electric post. It wasn't raining or windy, just cloudy. It hit really fast. Its like a flash of fire hitting an electric post. after a second, all I see is little smoke coming from the post.what I'm into is sprites. Im faccinated by it but only know little about it.

Lightning is awesome. I sometimes walk outside with a bag of popcorn and watch the show. Best part, no commercials.

I agree there isnt best show than watching lightning, its only dangerous if you are at the toppest of your city

i'll quickly explain
the clouds are filled with positive (+) particles, they are the energy of the lightning (think of a battery) and the ground is filled with (-) particles so they are attracted

when you're at the top of anything, you're like one antenna, you're the quickest way to the lightning get to the ground

enjoy my crappy drawings :P

just like this

but when there are buildings around you, the building is higher than you, even if it doesnt have a lightning-stopper equipment (sorry, direct translate from my language "para-raios") there are always something around you that is connected to the ground and higher that you

just like this

now, you see why electrical poles are the favorite targets of lightnings

As an avid weather enthusiast, lightning is up there with my major interests aside from hurricanes and tornadoes. It's unbelievable to see such raw power generated from the collision of water molecules. About two years ago, I just got home from martial arts during a severe lightning storm. I was looking out the window at a field near my house, looking for some good lightning bolts. Not a second after turning my head, a huge orange flash of light caught my peripheral vision. I looked outside and saw a tree split in two on the ground. After the storm ended, I went to see the tree in person and saw something amazing. There was still smoke and some little flames where it had struck. There was hundreds of pieces of bark all around the base of what was left of the tree. I figure when it struck, there was an explosion of bark(from the sap instantly vaporizing) as the tree split in two and fell. I actually have pictures of the barkless tree half that was lying on the ground. Simply awesome.

I also have an interest in the stories of ball lightning, sprites, elves, and blue jets.

I'm not scared of lightning really at all. I mean, I live in an area of the US where it is very rare; but when I am in areas that tend to have lightning, I'm not afraid that it'll hit me. Cool stuff though. I heard it's as hot as the SUN.

Actually i think it was 100x hotter than the surface.

I actually am not afraid of the lightning really I have always been interested in the storms and weather ever since I was a little kid because we had a tornado touch down near our house and I always wondered why everyone was running around. To get down stairs. Plus I work with electricity everyday at work and we constantly work with voltages 480v and above. If I was afraid of lightning I wouldn't even step near the electrical panels we work on since 120v is enough to kill you alone.

Here in Los Angeles it almost never has lighting, but central FL in summer is nuts and the thunder really shakes! So I can't say I've ever been afraid of lighting, what did get me when I was little was the wind sometimes. Where I lived it would blow down entire block walls over and over again, so it seemed that my window was going to burst. This was back in the 80s when we all had AL frame single pane windows of course.

I don't mind lightning at all. I got used to it when I was living on the east coast and over there (unlike here in SoCal), it wasn't that big a deal. It can be super pretty to. The only time I don't like lightning is when I'm in a car. Once, when I was younger, my parents and I were driving home from Lake Erie and there was a huge thunder storm. The lightning was pretty but the thunder and rain weren't fun at all (I a car accident happen during this drive), so, in general, I'd much rather there not be lightning when I'm driving.

I don't see it that often. The last time I saw one (past year) I was scared yet fascinated with it,because it appeared on such a low cloud, and it wasn't even rainy, nor cloudy enough to cause one of these. Besides it was blue, it was beautiful. I don't like to see it in the middle of storms, though. The only thing that appears here in storms are flash-like lightning, you know, without those detailed white or blue rays (I really don't know how to explain it).

There isnt much of lightning and thunder in the U.K. (which is to my liking). I often get pissed cuz everyone in my family keeps on pestering me to TURN OFF the PC! <<< (rarely happens) everytime theres thunder or lightning. Something about it getting fried (yeah i know too) but still gets annoying.

I'm not scared of it but it also annoys me when im about to sleep cuz theres light flashing...especially since i sleep beside the window (it will really get to you). But that was when i was still in the Philippines...oh well, been a long time now but thanks to that...the PC now is barely turned off (which is bad...) but heck...at least i can keep torrents overnight.
