Tetris

Is it just me, or is Tetris the most addicting game in the entire world? I can't get enough of it.
The night before the SATs, I remembered that every book I read had told me to calm down about it, and not to worry, so I clicked around and found one of millions of sites that host tetris in some form or another. It was 11 PM.
Seven hours later, I realized what I had done, but it was too late. I had to get ready to go take my SATs, but I had reached a new personal best in Tetris: Level 10.
So tell me, AnimePaper-ans, what your worst experience with Tetris was. Did you miss classes? Miss work? Miss your own wedding? Come on, tell us, it's not as though it'll ever come back to haunt you that you confided in us that instead of working on those TPS reports, you played Tetris all day!
(that was a joke about Office Space, and a good joke, at that! Lol)
Oh, and I guess this can be a thread for the best tetris sites that people have found.

Ahhh tetris, got lots of good memories with this game. Definately a classic. I only got to level 8 though.
My worst experience would be when i was playing it on a bus. I sat in the back and the bus was kinda empty except for me and a few friends. Long story short is that i got to level 8 and then realised i had missed my stop and was five stops down the bus route. Had to wait for a bus to take me back but continued playing while i waited for the other bus!
Don't know any good tetris sites. Prefer playing it ala Gameboy. (yes i know thats old =.=)

Haha, the same kind of thing happened to me, sort of...
My friend finally brought his gameboy to math class one day last school year, and since everyone at my 4-person table either had an A or an F, we thought that there was pretty much no need for us to pay any more attention: We either knew what was going on, or there was no hope left. Of course, he only brought two games: The Legend of Zelda, and Tetris. From that day on, we were no longer the striving students, all trying to do well in class. We were all privvy to the truth, that we were either dead meat, or set for the rest of the year. We all went straight down the tubes in the back corner of the class, taking turns playing tetris. Keep in mind, now, that we're all about 16 at this point, so we're near-adults acting like 5-year olds. Anyway, the teacher wasn't exactly enthusiastic about the idea of none of us paying attention, but none of our grades changed until one of the guys at the table sniffed some sugar like it was cocaine as a joke( trust me, it's a VERY long story).
Haha, good times...

Yeah, it seems like Tetris is a very addictive Game. I played it on Gameboy very frequently, trying to match a Highscore, like the ordinary Gameboy-kid. I played Tetris on NES, too, but it seemed to be more difficult than on the Gameboy, for Level 9 on NES seemed to be faster than on the Gameboy...
Guess what 10 years later until now,... my uncle in Thailand has it on his crappy CPU, and I played it three times already... ^-^-^-^-^-^

Tetris for me, is the first game i played.. Electronic games i mean.. Never grow old and it's the ase of common arcade game nowadays... And it is addictive...
I once played this for 3-hours non stop and got my eyes red as blood in my brothers house.. Got home too late (12AM, Monday), and barely awaken the next day at school.. It was damn hard to play.. Got only level.. 7 or 8.. and that's the good point in tetris... Love that game very much... There's no such word as boring for this one, ain't it guys??

Used to play this when i was a kid. got into a fist fight with another kid because he turned off the game when i was playing. i was really pissed because i was at level 7...
Tetris is, without a doubt, the greatest video game ever made. I had a copy of the NES version running on my DS for awhile, and it definately took up a lot of my free time. I think the highest level I got to was 19 on that version. And trust me, the bricks move very, VERY fast at that level.
I haven't played that version for some time now, as I have Tetris DS for my DS now, and play that instead when I need my Tetris fix. I've been known to play a single game on that for multiple hours straigt...

Playing tetris on a ds against other people is awesome =)
That it is. In fact, I need to start playing over WiFi again. I haven't done so in awhile.

I don't know why, but I've never been a fan of the spin-offs of Tetris. Maybe I just think that Tetris is one of those solitary games that anyone can play on his own for as long as he wants, and any change to that style of play( making it multiplayer) would only change the game itself. I guess I just don't see those multiplayer versions of the game as actual Tetris games, since you're not playing the way that it was actually designed...
I think that everyone's bad experience with Tetris involves school or testing of some sort being pushed aside to reach level 10... Does anyone have any stories about how Tetris ruined their life that don't involve you missing class or a test, but something else? I don't think that this thread will be complete until someone comes by and posts something like "I missed the first 20 minutes of my wedding because of Tetris...", haha.

Tetris is, probably, the greatest puzzle game ever made, and one of the most important games released ever. It's a perfect combination of simplicity and complexity, united in a single pack. That's the way puzzle games should be.
I'm seriously planning to buy that new Tetris game for the NDS. Apart from the classic modes, which other things does that game have?

OMG I LOVE TETRIS!!
But really..I do love tetris. I can play it for hours.
Yes it is very addicting or at least to me it is.
I do plan to get a DS and maybe have tetris on it.

And passed hours playing tetris, until a whole day
Yes! I also love tetris. It has to be the most addicting game ever made. I like the one for the DS that the more you play at the top screen its like your playing the old Mario game.
You guys will hate me for saying this.
I hate tetris.
It's just boring to line up blocks, etc. Argh, I'd rather be blowing up baddies.
