Hello ? I need your options about "Burning Programs" I used Nero 6. However, Nero released their new version Nero 7.2.7.0. I used it and I disappointed it when I burned Music CD. After day, it doesn't operated even if I click "making Music CD or Erease CD" I need the best Burning Programs that can make DVD-R data/Music CD. I mean something like Nero. What is your opinions ? Well I keep hearing around me that Alcohol 120% is a really good program for burning CDs and DVDs, so maybe you should check that program and see if it satisfies your desires.
Nero is the best. I don't know if it's the BEST though...lol since it's the only one i use...but yeah, nero's pretty awesome. XD
When I was using Windows I never had any problems with Nero, I also had a program by Roxio (I think it was called Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator) that seemed to work well.
Now I just use iTunes and Disk Utility, not that the latter one will help you (not Windows).

Its designed for copying discs and drive emulation. It won't allow you to select files to make your own disc image.
There are tons of disc burning softs but I m still using nero 6.XXx , try older verions, they take less system space and does everything just as well as the newer ones.
Alcohol 120% doesn't burn video or audio files. it's used mostly with ISOs

Alcohol 120% is mainly for emulating, so I think Nero is the best software on the market now ... though it requires faster CPU than other, it's much better ...

I don't know where's the problem in using Nero 6 ; I have been using it for 4 years now, and I'm totally satisfied with it. It has all the options I need, is reliable and easy to use. What else could you ask ?
I've also tried Nero 7 though, but I quickly returned to Nero 6 : the version 7 is too big and offers too many features I don't need, and it takes half a gig on your HD. That's too much.

I'd say nero is pretty good, espcecially the new suite program, makes burning a lot easier...
and i've tried alcohol 120%, its more emulation purposed, burning can be a hassle as its not well organized as nero burning software

Nero
Possibly one of the best burning programs you'll find that is still affordable.
Cons: The non-wizard form is not exactly user friendly. If you are at least somewhat computer-savvy, this should not be an issue for too long.
Alcohol 120%
Primarily used for image making and burning, as well as emulations.
Cons: Can't burn individual files or music tracks (unless already in an image/ISO)

Newer nero version is bloatware and more bloatware with every realease. For example, I already have soundforge, a way superior audio editor/converter that anything Ahead can dish out.

One more note. I installed one of the Nero v5.x from the above site & it's bundled ware. Meaning it's meant for specific drives only. It's like a retail version that is bundled together with CD-Drives. So after one use/reboot, It will fail to recognize/accept your burner. BUT, a huge BUT that is, Nero Express will recognize the same exact burner and it will burn. If you can stand Nero Express then it's worth the install.
Oh yeah, for DVD copying I use the stand alone Nero Vision Express.

I still think Nero v6 is probably the best.
